The Asians say hello. In fact, the humiliation of WWII and the opium wars is what has driven the East Asians into building their nations and economies. African booty scratchers would sell their own mothers in a heartbeat for a few crumbs.

Apples and oranges say hello. The colonization and decolonization process in Africa and Asia were completely different.
Colonialism was much worse in Africa, than in Asia.

American imperialism is what rebuild East Asian countries that you keep getting boners for. Americans exported civil servants, engineers, teachers, doctors along with billions of dollars to countries like Japan and South Korea to help rebuild after WW2. They also heavily invested in East Asian countries to buffer against communism from spreading.Countries like Japan grew fast and regained its pre WW2 level within 15 years because a good jump start given by the American occupation and having preferential access to global markets by virtue of being an American ally.So keep telling yourself they did it on their own.

This reminds me of the infamous Fredrick Douglas quote when he tried to rescue his African Americans from their plight I prayed for twenty years but received no answer until I prayed with my legs Somali's never pray with their legs.

Every dog had his day, African were the most advanced and at their heights around 3000-5000 period mark with various empires, which included into the middle ages, the Arabs had their's and so did every other group at some point in history, now it's the European turn, with African's being right at the bottom of that pool. It wasn't too long ago when the Europeans were at the bottom themselves.

For as long as they wield so much influence with all their terror groups, economic hit-men, total control over the financial systems, there won't be a proper revival, the empire has to crumble first or a powerful equal challenger has to rise with the best hope being the BRIC nations, but most of them are PISS poor themselves

I think Africa's problems have been exacerbated in some ways by colonialists but it would always be always be at the lowest levels of HDI purely because off the low level intelligence of it's population. Whether that's cognitively inherent or a failure of the people to advance from traditional thinking and habits i can't say.

Actually , unbeknownst to me , at the conjunction of God and the State ,the gov in the US formalizes a National Day of Prayer designated by Congress . In Somaliland the flow appears to be more driven by the event .

Do you have a pdf version of the book "race against time" stephen lewis.
Race against time is about AIDS mostly, there is a bit about how the Fund and WB have exacerbated this epidemic, but mainly the book is about AIDS and the plight of its victims and orphans and the UN .

The other book "Looting Africa" by Patrick Bond is a better book about African economy. He quotes other major books on Africa's looting and his statistics is mind boggling. One can show as I said before few factories in Africa owned by foreign investors paying African workers peanuts for wages , but that doesn't amount to shit considering the suffering of the entire continent.

Larry Summer the Ex chief of the WB and later secretary of Treasury for Clinton and later president of Harvard university said it best how the WB and the banksters few Africa and Africans he said " I think the economics logic behind dumping a load of toxic waste in the lowest-wage country is impeccable and we should face up to that" ( the economist 8 February 1992). Also

"On December 12, 1991, while serving as chief economist for the World Bank, Summers authored a private memo arguing that the bank should actively encourage the dumping of toxic waste in developing countries, particularly “under populated countries in Africa,” which Summers described as “UNDER-polluted.” Summers added that public outrage over the heightened rates of prostate cancer caused by his proposed dumping would be mitigated by the fact that poor people in developing countries rarely live long enough to develop prostate cancer. " Huffington Post , may 25 , 211 "Lawrence Summers: Africa Is "

Now if that's the attitude of those who run these institution what should we expect? These people are deadly and logical and well "respected" by their own media which put a human face on these monsters, institutions like Harvard and Yale and other " top of the line" universities furnish these monsters with the façade of education and "knowledge" and "ethics" .

As they say the devil is in the details , and nothing better describe Africa then its statistics for the last half century, Africa 1980-2002 ratio of GDP to Debt is 23 to 66 or 61 billion to 206 billion. Africa retired " deposited/invested" in European banks $255 billion from 1980-1990 that's 4.2 times the original debt paying zero for that entire decade yet depositing that much wealth in Europe through investment or capital flight , of course its all stolen wealth.

By 2000 debt in 21 African countries was unbearable at more than 300% of export. In Sudan, Burundi, Sierra Leone, and Guniea-Bissau the debt is 15 times greater then the annual export. At least in 16 African countries the debt was inherited from dictators,

Nigeria under Buhari and Abacha = $30 billion
South Africa under aprathied $22 billions.
Sudan under Numeri $ 9 billions
Ethiopia under Mengisto $8.5 billions
Kenya under Moi $5.8 billions
Somali Repblic under Afweyne , $2.5 billions.

I will keep posting more statistics and how the IMF and WB run Africa basically.

The problem with "looting Africa" is that it's very old and it doesn't address contemporary problems, nevertheless I still downloaded. Thanks for the info about Race against time.

It's horrible what the west does to Africa, but it's like an adult abusing a petulant, disorganised and naïve child. The problem lies with Africans in putting themselves in a position where they can be taken advantage off and that is a direct consequence of the low level intelligence of our people.

Your mindset and similar attitudes explain why the continent is in this mess. No deduction whatsoever, just bizarre chain of thought devoid of any logic hence my ''Afrikaanku waa qeyb duurjooga ka mid ah'' comment.

The people of Somaliland pay taxes, I would like you to point out exactly what the government has done, especially when it comes to the recent drought other than redistribute aid from the EU and UAE.

It has nothing to do with Islam but you're trying to defend the undefendable by projecting religion into the discussion. A nomad can pray to God for rain but elected officials can't because they're evading responsibility by pushing it on God. These elected officials are misusing entrusted power i.e corruption but you being the archetypicial African can't see this. Salaad iyo khamiisku Siilaanyo xidhanyahay umbaa kuu muuqda and that's the main topic in your local maqaaxi/mafrish.

The drought in California was worse in terms of people/households affected but you didn't see the Governor nor the mayors of L.A, San Fransisco, San Diego etc. gather for prayer. Waa lala yaabi lahaa but for the African this is normal. Some African officials (South Africa - BRICS member) believe onion cures Aids but then again Afrikaanku waa qeyb duurjooga ka mid ah...

What alternatives or options do African countries had soon after their ndependence in the 1960's when the world was already divided into 2 Pacts? What sort of freedom did they actually have after independence? Asia was a priority for the West not to fall into the Communist orbit and they heavily invested to succeed. It was the epicentre of competition for both pacts. Look at what happened in Indonesia with the slaughter of 1 million Indonesian "Communists". This system lasted till 1990's to be replaced and dictated to others by globalisation and Neo-liberalism global economic structure. At last, a glimmer of hope shone from the East by China's investments in the continent. The jury is still out on China. Are the economies of Vietnam, Burma, Cambodia and Laos performing better than many African countries? Hardly. There is a correlation between imperialism, Neo-imperialism and development. It's impact differs from country to country.

ad hominem aside
and then you keep insulting me " mafrish mentality/backward african .etc..ect
You like to argue like a girl , using big terms without even knowing what they mean
What is deductive reasoning ?
Deductive reasoning is a logical process in which a conclusion is based on the concordance of multiple premises that are generally assumed to be true. Deductive reasoning is sometimes referred to as top-down logic
premise 1: Muslims nomads pray fro rain
premise 2 : Somaliland/Somalia is one of the poorest country on Earth .
premise 3 : Silanyo is a politician and politicians manipulate public opinion .
Conclusion : Silanyo joins his countrymen in a national day of prayer for rain .
Secondly an elected official in the US cannot gather for prayer because of the distinct boundaries between Church and State which are not so clearly defined in Somaliland and Africa in general .
Thirdly it is not entirely appropriate or wise to apply a "Californian attitude of 2016 " to a Somali or African problem . California is the 7th economy in the world { California not functioning on its own but within a united continental country }, Somaliland towards the bottom , therefore the expectation cannot be the same .Let's take the UAE as an example .60 years ago they would have sent us their prayers , today they send a team of specialist to assess the need and help Somaliland in alleviating its water shortage .What modified their attitude ? I will let you answer that .
You have an extremely arrogant and unwise attitude and that doesn't help anybody but yourself maybe .

Lol, don't put words in my mouth. I never used ''mafrish mentality'' or ''Backward African''. I wrote archetypical African.

Yes, non issues are the main topic at your local maqaaxi/mafrish (it's a fact), wether you sit and participate actively wasn't revealed in my statement, yet you accuse me of attacking your character.

Secondly your premises fail to support your conclusion, matter of fact, they don't justify the conclusion at all. Siilaanyo is not manipulating public opinion because there's no opinion (in regards to the drought) to manipulate, he's simply evading responsibility by pushing it on God instead of implementing basic solutions.

I never mentioned expectations, I stated that the way they tackle a similar problem is completely different. It's a matter of sinceritity vs insincerity.

Yes, and that's exactly what Africans need. A distinct boundary between the state and mosque/church.

What basic solution should he have implemented instead of just praying as you put it eventhough they're not mutually exclusive , tell us , what would you have done if you were in his shoes ?
Secondly you will also have to prove that none of your slotuions have been considered by Silanyo , of course ,
Tell us :)
