No video on how much dubai will invest is still unknown probably first phase will cost 430 million just for expansion and upgrades I believe they will spend more than that as they see fit.

I am not an economist, but maybe the 10 Mil a year is clear profit for SLND without further Financial commitments toward berbera port since DP world will take care of doing all the port services, customs, construction, employment payrolls, free zone construction,,,etc....so maybe that is better off than having 140 Mil out of berbera port which is not enough to do the berbera port infrastructure expansion and development and the little left goes to SLND budget.

lets wait till we got the full picture and correct figures.

The corridor alone will cost hundreds of million dollars. I am sure the total investment is billions.

I look up the djibouti port dubai built a whole brand new terminal for them and a lot technology it's a high tech port.
DP World and Djibouti’s government established a joint venture in 2006 with the signing of a 30-year concession to operate the container terminal, which the company describes as “the most technologically advanced” depot in Africa. The facility, inaugurated in 2009, has a 1.05 kilometer-long (0.66-mile) quay and the capacity to handle eight super-post-panamax cranes, according to its website.

But trust me the more business flows the more cash they put in and every investment is based on risk, and an intial investment doesn't mean total investment.

To build djibouti a new termine it cost close to 400 million dollars.
Doraleh Container Terminal: This large greenfield project for Djibouti will broaden the scale of port operations. A $396 million project financed through the first PPP between Djibouti government and DP World, the terminal has a capacity of 1.5 million twenty foot equivalent container units per year.
I can't find anything saying DP world invested in 4 billions into djibouti port.

Guban it says 2006-2009 add 20% for inflation and we're 80 million short.
Exchanging 140 million for 10 million per year is going to be very hard to compensate.

2017 budget will surely be effected with this but on the long term, I believe it's the right decision to make.
Waiting 30 years to reap the fruit of this investment will be very painful unless we're getting a percentage of the total export +10 million

O'well, probably some Cissa Muuse will shoot DP staff or Xamar xassid government will intervene. I won't put lots of hope on it.

I read a lot documents on djibouti deal it's seems that djibouti matched what ever dp world invested into its port and just being associated with dp world will boost berbera trade significantly because all dp world is doing is basically shifting trade to berbera so it became transit hub and overrall time they will get there investments back too this is the right path a lot ships pass by berbera because there isn't international shipping agency present there this will also boost trade with ethiopia it's win win situation if its properly handled.

Ramie, that's a bogus news report it's no way in hell the port revenue will only be 10 million dollars because government budget relies on port revenue and taxes.
