TPLF doesn't share borders with Somali... but the Oromo do... you should want good relations with your neighbors.... after all we did give refuge to your mad mullah leader
There might be a tad different variation in politics but Ethiopia's policy towards Somalia /somali will always be the same, especially in this one in a life time opportunity (and thousand years old dream) of having the whip hand over the geeljire/Somali. It's convenient for you to paint yourself as something different than what you are (Ethiopian) to gain favours and political support from somali.
But of course oromo and somali were and will always be neighbours.

Being Ethiopian doesn't mean we all blindly adhere to the same ideology. I for one, as a Muslim Oromo, support an united and stable Somalia. I don't support a fragmented Somali state nor does it benefit my people.
I'm Ethiopian but feel closer to Somali and even the Muslim Beja than I would to a Tigrayan for example.
I support the right of the somali within Ethiopia to self determination. I believe only they have a right to determine what they do, whether it's secession or autonomy.
What I meant was, allying with a minority and collapsing regime, that hails from an area that doesn't border you, is opportunistic and shortsighted. I don't want Somali support nor do the Oromo and amhara need it. But i'm just saying, it's in the best interests of Somali Ethiopians to side with the oppressed. The former amhara highly centralized state won't ever come back so the Somali shouldn't let the TPLF scare you by saying the DERG days will return if they're dismantled.
