My short reply is as follows:
Firstly, if the respondents were patient and read all the information you posted they would see that you have actually answered your own question. As you did not highlight any of the benefits associated with the substance.
Secondly, of course khat should be banned not only because it is harmful to health and family cohesion. From my own personal experience/travel around Canada, USA, Sweden, Holland and China I found the Somalis living in areas where khat was banned were more prosperous in terms of business, education, skill development and lets just say the children had real fathers (not just dads).
Furthermore, I don't think Somali man are lazy, useless, laidback, red eyed and smelly. However, those man that eat/chew/sleep with khat I would use all those words to describe them.
So I guess you could call me the Anti-Khat girl but my views are supported by reality.
I am sure in the very near future Khat will be banned in the UK as the anti khat campaigners are increasing - the only problem we have at the moment is that we don't have a single voice too many little unknow/ isolated charities cannot have a great influence - anyway I think I wrote too much.
Thanks to all those that managed to read all my lines - I hope you understood me -- if you didn't reply and I will write it in Somali
