Re: Ifat Kingdom
Oromos were not part of the Ifat kingdom. The Hadiya, Warji, Argobba were part of it. Majority of these people are Oromo today, but they are very different from Oromos.AwRastaale wrote: Sun Mar 04, 2018 5:24 pm Ifat was Habesha and Oromo kingdom that began in Shewa. It was situated near Walaale town in Oromia.
Founded by the Makhzumis it was later taken over by the Walashma dynasty.
It consisted of Habesha, Oromo and Arab migrants.
The above groups with other Muslim habeshas (Silte, gurage etc) and Arabs founded the sultanate.
You are correct in stating theWalashma dynasty took over afterwards.

Re: Ifat Kingdom
where is the proof of this, early historians say the Ifat were Somalis, and some say they had Arab genealogy which at least 3 Somali clans have, lets not forget around the time of Ifat we are talking about early Somalis in the 1200-1300s
We have proof that Somalis moved as far as central Kenya, there are tribes today known as Rer Diinle in Kenya that are to catogorised as Somali but independent tribes, the Garre who are also Somali choose to be classified as some a 100 years or so ago. These two groups are heavily mixed with Oromo. I believe the same case is true for Arsi, Gurage, Silte groups but they choose to classify themselves as Oromo, Amhar due to mix, however they rather be independent as well ask any of them.
Another point I want to make is we have proof of Abyssinians conquering Zeylac, they have not only ransacked many Somali towns and exterminated our people, but those who were captured their identity was torn from them.
The Isaac guy Khalid Ali his people are new to the area he is ahlu bait who is new to Somali peninsula I am talking about the 13-14 century Somalia at the time of Ifat kingdom, his words a worthless, his people only started to reach the area in the late 1800s
I believe early Somalis were Darood, Dir and some other lost tribes, but Isaac are relatively new Somalis. Darood moved south with some Dir, while other Dir and Darood moved east or remained in the vicinity of Ifat after their defeat. It is only natural that when Adal was formed Darood took part in it and moved up north again.

Re: Ifat Kingdom
Umar walasma3 was the grandson or son of Sh Yusuf Abu Baraka Al Kownayn ( Aw Barakhadle).
All sultans from the Ifat and Adal kingdoms trace their lineage through him. Sh Ali Al Wafa Al Qayduni as-Somali a medieval Somali harari historian mentions this at length in his biographical text which is still in manuscript entitled Sidq Al Akhlaq fi Taarikh Al Khawas.
The burial site of Sh Yusuf outside of Hargeisa also served as the capital of the Adal state until 960 Hijri, it was called Dakar, or Dakkar, in Arabic دكر. This was mentioned by the contemporary scholar Sh Abu Bakr Al Ba'alawi who was alive in that century.
