To be fair it's only a tiny minority of these clans whom are AS.......the point I've been making is successive govts have failed to make any headway against AS.

It's clear Amisom has no real intention of fighting AS much less defeating them. The Americans are content just to launch drones.

A new strategy of engagement and dialogue with AS must be implemented.

If the Americans can talk to the Taliban then the govt should be able to talj to AS.

Actually I'm being pragmatic......AS will never be defeated because nobody is fighting them.

I agree with your position OD, if the US can negotiate with the Taliban who killed countless American soldiers, why can't we persue peace with AS. They will not be defeated anytime soon and we must save Somali lives and end the civil war. I think the next govt, a hag led admin in all probability, will pursue talks with AS. Not because they give a damn about civilian deaths.....but because the hag money men will demand it. The current status quo is bad for business and there is $billions to be made in a peaceful Somalia.
