This was a huge mistake and something that wasn’t necessary. Some war criminals are better than others for political reasons.

People in glass houses shouldn't throw stones.
Not the tribal leader of Marexan or the govonor of Dusamareeb.
He is a national unity symbol yet instead of healing wounds he has exercised out right arrogance and disregard.

Tuke participated in state sponsored genocide. A genocide confirmed by renowned genocide scholars. That’s the difference!
So how is it hypocrisy?
The usual disingenuous arguments made by people from failed state Zoomalia, who are without a doubt our eternal enemies.Turbulence wrote: Sat Sep 28, 2019 6:00 pmYou pretty much wrote what I was thinking. Selective outrage. The head of Somalia's NSS, Daahir Riyaal, and probably the torturer in chief of the former regime (if there was one) was the ruler of Hargaisa not long ago. War criminal Muuse Biixi is the current ruler of Hargaisa. Also, at least Tuke was a military officer following a legitimate state law enforcement directive which is 1000% more reasonable and understandable than murderous warlords not sanctioned or guided by anything except factional rape and murder.
You guys are too much which is why I have stopped even caring to hear anything you guys have to say.

There's not a country on earth that would have done differently than what Somalia did vis-a-vis SNM rebellion.

So burning unarmed civilians to death is legitimate under the false pretense of fighting rebels?
According to reports from both HRW and GAO, the regime carried out aerial and artillery bombardments against residential areas after evacuating all non Isaaq from the city. According to the reports the SNM were not anywhere near Hargeisa.
Under the Geneva convention these types of attacks are indiscriminate and Afweyne, under international law, was obliged to protect civilian lives but he didn't because his goal was to wipe out Isaaq civilians not save them.
With that said, Somaliland’s case for re-recognitions is not based on grievances. The quest for Somali irredentism is dead and we decided to reclaim our country. It’s that simple.
