I am extremely confused by this topic

This is 2020; I "heard" is irrelevant.

The info presented says the project was signed in 2015, did not have any FEDERAL GOVERNMENT involvement, and the project was EU funded with British contractors.

1. No FGS involvement.
2. EU funded
3. British contractors
4. AND project signed 2015.

I am confused how this has anything to do with Nabad iyo Nolol.

In my opinion, HAS ANYONE EVER SEEN SOMETHING BUILT BY THE EU OR BY BRITISH CONTRACTORS IN SOMALIA?????

I think this is MORE about EU BUREAUCRACY and it's AID INEFFECTIVENESS when it actually has to show for anything.

EU will say they gave "500 MILLION" over the past "2 YEARS" and when you check LINE ITEM there is NOTHING SPECIFICALLY DETAILED; just a clever auditing that PLUGS IN KEY MARKETING TESTED PITCHES.

Conversely TURKEY OR OTHER EASTERN donors will have spent "20 MILLION" and EVERYTHING FROM AIRPORTS WITH TARMAC TO HOSPITALS TO SCHOOLS etc will be everywhere.

We have all known there was INSURMOUNTABLE BLOAT in WESTERN AID, we actually just see it now.

It’s a government's role to have oversight over all development projects. Somalia along with DRC, Afghanistan are places with poor oversight of contractors and this is taken advantage of.

I would have told Kheyre to stay away from such a project and left it to KG President to take credit and all that comes with it.

To be honest with you AW, as Jawaari recently saying, the FGS was the ONE THAT HAD BOSSES and not the other way around until Nicholas Haysam was told to leave in 24/hrs.

If we are taking this for granted, it's because we forget so easily.

I agree with you this was very poor pr and also there are serious questions to answer about this so they need to address this clearly.

If you take into account the various personalities (within the FG, maamul goboleed, etc) and forces (including AS that has to ensure the safety of constructors) that have to be made happy, the fruition of this airport at a cost of few millions is a big achievement. Not to mention, the construction isn't at its final stage, as I expect laami runways & other improvements within few years.
