Xawadle are one of the few hawiye clans fighting the terrorists, they should be supported. A lot of other Somali clans in the south are not willing to pay the price to fight them.
Just as you can manipulate the lineage system to have a dynamic understanding of your "lineage-group," so too can the extremist parasite 🪱 to find and manipulate the exact point to take advantage and amplify your political grievance or sense of marginalization for their benefit.
I
There are Somalis, Westerners, think tanks, etc making 100s of thousands of dollars to articulate what you just did. I am tracking what you are saying 100%. To me it seems unlike other Somali groups AS only use Qabil for very quick strategic missions or campaigns unlike other Somali groups who use it recklessly with zero results . Before masses could even begin revolting under what they see as a AS campain against them, those very same said people end up being the very ‘disenfranchised’ group struggle AS end up championing!
Let’s be very frank. HSM and his hooligans ran under a campaign of ‘Hiiraab, Hiiraab, Hiiraab’. HSM wasted no time in building a hooligan Gov under that premise. The Hawiye subgroups, even sub sub subclans left out of the equation become cannon fodder for providing AS support. Add to that the NISA AS connection under Mahad Salaad, Roobow, etc, and wow.
I 100% do not think it is a fluke certain regions are the brunt of Al Shaydaan offensives. If the illiterate mooryaan HSM was a bit more interested in building a real, inclusive, representative Gov, Al Shaydaan would be more stretched perhaps.
And sadly, no one else besides you understood exactly what that description of Shabaab's strategy manipulating the clan system is.
For example, Marehan is not your lineage-group even to you let alone others.
Marehan is "one" out of many choices for your lineage-group and it is so dynamic, there has probably never been a single day you have had one single "lineage-group" for a full day.
For example, an individual said "his clan" and another clan have formed an alliance between the "clans" in the middle, i e. the Shabaab clans.
He is Samaale, Hawadle, Abdi Yusuf.
As Samaale lineage-group, he is the same as the "Shabaab clans" he identified. He is a Shabaab clansmen according to his discretion.
As Hawadle lineage group, the other clan forming a part of his alliance, are the same as the "Shabaab" clans in between them. So it is his lineage-group vs. all the clans he identified including the alliance member as the "Shabaab clan."
As Abdi Yusuf lineage group, it is possible tomorrow, if not today, he is part of the "Shabaab clans" or forming one of many pockets of different loyalties in the geographic territory he identified.
In this very topic, he has had different lineage-group depending on whom or what he was addressing directly controlling his perspective on a number of different issues (whether for example talking about Darod vs. non-Darod, Hawiye vs Samaale, Hiraab vs Hawiye, Hiiraan clans vs Hirshabelle clans).
If you have multiple lineage-group as aspects of your worldview in just one online discussion topic, why would you imagine "clan" identity is so static and that only you can choose even for your "enemies" their lineage-group.
Murax, in this topic, your lineage-group to Sahal is Darod.
Your lineage-group to a Darod like MrSinister is Marehan.
Your lineage-group to a Marehan like me is Ali Hussein.
If there was another participant from Ali Hussein, your lineage group would be below Ali Hussein.
Just in this topic, Shabaab has 3 choices to manipulate your response and worldview based on the 3 options for your lineage-group at their disposal.
I am afraid Somalis are yet to comprehend just ALL the effects of how flexible they designed their own navigations for resources, including their relationships or identities, responding to the constant threat of nature's environmental inconstancy.
This reality is such even in this very topic, we display this incredible disconnect.
It is the things you most take for granted about being a Somali that are inevitably the strongest tools at your enemy's disposal for strategizing against you.
