Xamar has something Hargeisa doens't: BODY OF WATER!
and hargeysa has something xamar doesnt have: PEOPLE WITH SOUL!
That is impossible. Every living, breathing, farting, eating, shitting, pissing and sweating human being has a soul... here is my reasoning:

souls are extensions of the brain's (1 of many) function
every human being has a brain
human beings live in xamar
therefore, ppl of xamar have souls

.... simple, sweet, elegant and unassailable. Don't you love logic?

UncleBIN,

You're right, VanCity is beautiful. Sees more rain than I like but it sure beats Ottawa. It's also where cargo laden ships back from the Asia Pacific region jettison. I believe it handles the bulk of Canada's Pacific shipping trade.

DD

it is canada's main port, Its also strategically placed for all the shipping of pacific rim shipping of canadian products.

Its thrity times cleaner then toronto and has fresh air compared to toronto's smog problem. I know it rains but doesn't vancouver recieve very little snow? Thats why they have to use whistler for olympic ski and ski related events.

DD,

Your argument doesn’t have a merit son. Think before you talk.

Talking about capital cities with no water links.

How about Riyadh
How about Nairobi
How about Addis Ababa…just to mention few.

Some times it’s better to separate the capital city from the industrial cities.

Yes, Hargeisa is the capital but majority cities in Somaliland are located in the coast of the Red Sea.

Riyadh isn't as important as jeddah is. Nairobi is a good case but have you noticed that kenyas gdp is still like a 1500 dollars. Why? because it doesn't have to galore of a coast, sea, path of some sort resulting in jobs created by a port and increase business associated with it. Why is singapore and hong kong what they are today? becuase of there international hubs which millions of products leave container ships daily.

Addis Abba sukks. Why do you think the habashi are runnin all over for berbera, djoubti, and even bossas ports. Why do you think they went to war with eritrea?

No knock on hargeisa but if berbera wasn't as hot as is it is and was developed the potential would be so astronomical that hargeisa would be just another prosperous town in the shadow of the coastal city of berbera.

Tell me one of the major cities in the world without a body of water?

I saw this document and the pctures of hargeisa look familiar. But there is something wrong...it is a collage the buildings all exist but they are nowhere near each other! Clevel clogs the Hargeisawis.

Still pretty impressive when you consider every single building, and i mean literaly every house has been destroyed by the occuppying faqash aramy and airforce only 15 years ago.

You cant compare Burco to Gaalkacyo, Burco can be compared to Kismayo.

Galkaacyo can be compared to Buulo Xaawo. Laughing

The guy was talking about Capital cities without water not what city is more important. Dubai is more important commercial city than Abu Dubai and they both have water.

The point is, the capital city doesn’t have to be linked to water for success.

As far as Ethiopia is concern, the whole country is land locked. It has nothing to do with Addis and its lack of water.

P.S. If Berbera was the capital of Somaliland instead of Hargeisa, we would embrace that too. Don't turn this thread about Hargeisa vs. Berbera

Wallahi somali's are some of the most ignorant people ever. I was not insulting Hargeisa and bigging up Berbera. But this thread turned from "Major" not Capital cities of importance. The most prosperous cities have ports period, full stop, capisce, fanito, khalaas.

Addis Abba
Nairobi
Riyadh etc aren't as prosperous as other cities in Africa with water ways like Cairo, Durban, Cape town etc

Not knocking them but why do you think most cities major economic horse is a "city by the sea" as they say?
