I thank everyone who has contributed to this thread. The clarification is appreciated.
The unfunny and unfortunate consequence of Islam's claim to superiority and unique correctness is that it makes itself the enemy of all other faiths. Jerry Falwell may not know which book to quote from, but he sure knows a threat when he hears it. And he responds in kind, as will many others.
Have you heard the story of the elephant and the three blind men? One man felt the trunk and said an elephant is like a big snake with no teeth. The second man felt a leg and said an elephant is like the trunk of a tree. The third man felt the tail and said an elephant is skinny and has long, thick hair. To me, religion is like that. We all have only part of the entire picture.
The Lord has spoken to different people at different times. The message has varied with the circumstances. I feel it is a mistake to take these messages out of context, or to make universal something that was intended for a specific group and time.
While I accept without reserve the ethics, morals and values of the Abrahamic tradition, I cannot believe that these are found exclusively within Islam. And that's what makes me a Kafir.
My prayer is that God will bless all mankind.
Is the Kitaab kufr?

Great post Grant.
Let me share with you this, I have researched myself and have concluded that Islam has become misunderstood as well as Christianity what may have started as a great idea got lost in interpretations. The best way to think of all three of the abrahamic religions is like hornet's nests.
If they were alone (no other competing hornets) they would peacefully go about their business. However, they are not alone, and they know it, for they each have their two brothers to compete with. Ever watch brothers compete? Well this is not a friendly competition. This is a "make or break" competition for the rule of the world for they all see the world as theirs (since they all follow the same basic views on the earth being God's gift to them to have dominion over).
All three religions completely allow for warring in the defense of what is theirs. Now what is really "theirs"? That is where all the variations on each religion start to come into play. Some abrahamic people are happy to share, some are not.
Back to the hornet's nest: rile an abrahamic religion up and you get stung! There is no doubt about that. Ready to sting they always are, be it terrorists, or giant armies, or massive strategic weapons stockpiles. The abrahamic religions are paranoid, and in fear of their God, (no matter what some of us will tell you, the basis for the religions is fear - and denial). What does that breed? Look at the world today! Are we a people at peace with ourselves, with nature? Are we surrounded by societies that promote violence and hatred, fear and delusion, denial and false supremacy?
The best way to look at the trio is to view it as the "line of prophets" and remove the boundaries defining the three sects otherwise you will put 90% of your effort into analyzing the 10% that differentiates them. If I am around a nest of stinging flying insects I do not concern myself with "are they wasps or hornets" but rather with not getting stung! (to simplify it greatly).

They already did
I fear that they might be mixing the two things as being the same, but they are different. It is dangerous to let the organization be a foundation of your faith. the organization decides on doctrine, and made interpretations of the written texual ( Qu'ran and Bible, Towra)as it sees fit to support it's agenda. it is like any other political organization. it has secrets, and it has a public image. The organization is only a guide, it is not the faith itself. Hint: Look at Saudi Arabia and Iran.
I may leave it that way or I'll really be in serious trouble here.

The Rebel....
What you wrote sounds like some shit a meth addict would spew....funny but doesn't make a damn sense.
Grant....I will tell you why the Final Message brought by Muhammad (scw) is superior to all other messages brought forth by previous Prophets. Islam is not in a competition with the "ORIGINAL" messages of Christianity and Judaism. While other Prophets like Noah, Moses and Jesus, Peace be upon them, were sent to specific nations and tribes in different regions. The Qur'an says Allah (swt) sent Messengers to every nation on earth. All of these messages had one theme: the worship of One God. However, these messages weren't meant to be universal. So each Prophet preached to his own people. Muhammad (scw)'s message, on the other hand, was meant to be Universal...For every1. He is the Last Prophet Allah (swt) sent to earth, the final messenger. This is why Muslims call him the Seal of all Prophets. So why Jesus's message was similar to that of Muhammad, he was sent to the Children of Israel only...While the rules and procedures of these messages were similar in some way and different in some ways, they weren't meant to compete because they were all for different nations. Muhammad's message is for every1.

The rebel....why u may have couple of functioning brain cells, i'm afraid you have missed the point of this discussion....Grant is not interested, at least not in this thread, the interpretation of Islam or Wahabism.
Why are so adamant in dividing people here? U always have to bring up Shi'ism and wahabism whenever Islam is discussed.
