Garad,
Mike, unclebin, DD and alot of us here live in Canada. Majority of SOmalis in Canada do work, and they contribute to the economy by buying houses, and many of them owning businesses especially in the greater Toronto Area. Somalis bewteen 20 -25 make up the majority of black students attending the universities and colleges. Most young Somalis work hard to go school if they can. In canada where univeristy/college education costs 5,000 a year, there are lot of Somalis students working part-time and doing their full/time degrees. There are somali students doing medical school in Toronto area, and there have been at least 3 Somali students that have become doctors just in toronto area alone.
and yes there are few lost kids here and there, but I am generally proud of my community in Canada. if you think Somalis in canada are all about welfare and crime, than you have serious misconceptions about Canadian Somalis, i suggest you take a trip to Canada and see for yourself.
