Alluring’s position on the subject matter is not unique to him/her is more of a universal ideology within Somalis men and women alike. I have heard time and time again the term “We are Arabs” constantly been uttered by Somalis. I have personally become sick of it, for others like my friend alluring exposed to same lies and artificial historical narratives by Somalis; mostly elders has taken its toll and led her/him to succumbs to the constant recycle manure dripping from many of our illiterate Bakorat wielding so called Somali elders.
When you are bombarded by same information from date of your birth till you are adulthood the information received becomes more of religious revelation just like Gospel. Is at this critical junction where the myth and artificial take on history becomes mainstream fact and the only truth knows to all young Somalis. I have personally and I know many of you here will testify to my following assertions, I have experience from many of my Somali friends both here and back in Africa a sense of historical denial build upon unjustified feeling of superiority against any thing African (Bantu). There general consensus by all Somalis that there are of superior breed and the sense of insecurity felt and hate of association of anything black that led to this identity crisis.
Its truth that Somalis have had historical, religious and cultural link with the Arabs, hence the fact Islam is the major religion of all Somalis, but this established link are just that. The cultural link amongst others that Somalis had with the Arab world was forged at the time by the significant exchange of goods between Arabs and Somali traders and off course the insatiable spread of Islam during this period there were instances of inter-marriages between both the Arabs and Somalis. The significant of inter-marriages, trade and religious of the Arab world of those time should not override in my view the logical truth, and the fact that Somalis are part of the ‘Arab League” or established link the Arab world doesn’t mean that Somalis are Arabs by default. The likes of Alluring who have entertained the idea that Somalis are Arabs, would find that there physical appearance and dark skin tone will testify otherwise, many have proclaimed that we look different, although that seem to be the case, we are different in many ways, as some of you have noted during the course of this conversation we poses skinny physical appearance, tall and as usual unlike our other Africans brothers with tend to have lighter skin complexion, but that only is not credible feature to authenticate alluring’s claim, may be there other geological, genealogical that owes us a better historical narratives to base our identity upon.
I have found heard to fathom the idea that Somalis are of Arab origin, there mere fact that many of us wish to assume they are Arabs or have pathological obsession of anything Arabs doesnÂ’t imply we Arabs. I think for many years Somalis have been towing alluringÂ’s view on the above subject matter; its time for Somalis to accept and resign to the fact they are Africans and be proud. I am certain of my African identity and I will proclaim anything else other than African. There is no point fighting it, in my view you are better off embrace it. Arabs donÂ’t give a Sh!t about Somalis.. And will all know thatÂ…

How are you a decendant of Arabs?? you are a Gedabursi a pure Dir clan who never in their tribal myth ever claimed Arabsim. No Hawiye, Dir, Rahanweyn ever calimed to be decendant of some Arab wondering sheikh.
60% of Somalis don't even claim to be Arabs, only Darood and Isaaq, and both of these clans limit their Arabism to their founders. Few Isaaq ever claim to be Arabs.
If Daaroood Ismaaciil or Isxaaq Ibnu Axmed were Arabs that doesn't mean their 30th decendant are Arabs, If i was asked if I was an Arab i'd say no with a disguest, if was to be asked if Sheekh Isxaaq was an Arab i'd say yes all oral historical evidence points so. But that doesn't make me an Arab, iam not sheekh Isxaaq... iam Isaaq and hence a somali 100% pure somali.
As of being African yes we are Africans, Negro, no , Bantu we are not we are Africans in the sense that we lived in that continent for 100's of years, blacks we are, not black as southern Sudanes nor balck Mongoliad as Nelson Mandle's squinty eyes and brown skinne.
Look at ethopians, they have lighter skinned then most somalis, but their hair is coarse and nabbier then most Somalis, yet they are Africans, in fact both Tigre and Amhara language is semetic in orgin whereas Somali language is native of Africa and is classified as Hamatic, the Berbars of North Africa despite their Semetic looks their languge is 100% Hemetic.
The concept of race is not an easy one, not even for Europeans who claim Greec and Italians are Europeans just to aquire an antiquity base (Rom0-Greec) base for their so called western Civilization, but few of us make the mistake confusing a Finish with a Greec, or a German with Italians.
