The Somali race is like a rainbow. It consists of many different ethnic groups and I was told these guys around Mogadishu area are more HUTUS than Somalis. I could be wrong.

BTW, I donÂ’t know who sacad is but they could be the Hutus I was talking about. Just look at pix in your friendÂ’s Avatar box

Bacayl, as far as I know the Somali tribe is a homegenous ethnic group. It consists of different clans and sub-clans but not of different ethnic groups. There are different tribes not just ethnic Somalis living in and around the capital, I guess youÂ’ll have to be more specific in terms of who you are referring to. If you mean the digil and mirifle, then I can tell you that they are certainly not hutu. If you mean the hawiye, Dir, Xawaadle and all the rest of the samaale, then I can also tell you that they are certainly not hutu. I have already told you that the Somali Bantus are also not hutu. The reer xamar and reer brava living in and around Xamar are also not hutu. The daarood living in and around the capital are also not hutu.

I think you may have your geography mixed up or something. IÂ’m sure any hutu will tell you that their homeland is not in Somalia but rather in Rwanda.

Any how, I hope that cleared it up for you and that next time when someone tells you the people around Muqdisho are hutus not Somalis you can break it down for them and teach them more about the Somali tribe.

You didnÂ’t have to get too philosophical sister. I know what the history says about Somalis and Somalia in general. I donÂ’t believe Somalis are one homogenous ethnic group. That part of our history needs to be rewritten and corrected accordingly.

I think we have a lot of hutu look like in Somalia.

^Well you will have to come up with a lot of facts and figures that you are a Somali and the people you are referring to are not Somali in order to be able to rewrite history. I guess the first step is to identify the people you are referring to in order to prove or disprove your assumptions and claims.

Eyes, Ignore the DhagaEey.

Hutus are a populous native tribe in Africa. They are a majority in Rwanda and Burundi. So if I am refered to as a Somali Hutu, I welcome and accept it because it shows that I am a NATIVE of the land unlike some Arab claiming garacs and it would also make me the majority.
