Let me see, Pope has an intellectual discussion, quotes a 14th century nobody, Muslim outrage.
Some guy draws a cartoon of Mohammed with a bomb in his turban, Muslim outrage.
Little known filmaker and Somali woman make a little known film that depicts Islam in a negative light, Muslim outrage.
Islamic militants raid a school and kill hundreds of school children, no Muslim outrage.
Islamic militants fly passenger planes into the twin towers, killing almost 3,000 people, no Muslim outrage.
Islamic militants blow up a train in Spain, killing scores, no Muslim outrage.
Islamic militants detonate bombs on the London mass transit system, no Muslim outrage.
Does anyone wonder why, maybe, the rest of the world think Muslims are FOCKED UP? The reason that people think that is because Muslims are focked up.

mac,
you are being unfair here. don't you think muslims would want to show outrage to hundreds of thousands of muslims being killed by the west first? look at what happened to iraq. how that country has been really fu'cked up by the way america has compromised its nationality? and, for what? bush can now say, "i was wrong" -- as if that cuts it.
however, muslims all over the world have showed outraged at senseless killing of non-muslims. i remember after 9/11 cairo's tahrir square was filled with muslims protesting the inhumanity of the perpetuators. i also remember how the lebanese muslims gathered and sent messages on live internet cafes... their sorrow, their condolences, etc. (interestingly enough, only five years later we would expediate the delivery of bombs that would kill thousands of them in the hands of israel.) i remember how the students of tehran unviversity staged a "hanging" of the murderers... and how only five years later, the bush administration is carving its knifes to murder that nation. i remember how american muslims set up charities and websites denouncing the hatred that was done in the name of their faith. i could go on and on and on...
i'm just shocked... that YOU don't remember.
now... i think muslims have a right to show anger when their faith is insulted, however that comes across. do i think some muslims go the extreme? sure. does that discredit the reality of the insult? no.

This Benedictus is a moron and he should keep his mouth shut when talking about other religions. Christianity is not, certainly, a peaceful religion, as we can see through the centuries (crusades, the Inquisition, the haunt of witches, the superstitions). But, in the other side, there's a kind of over-reaction. You can't kill a nun in Somalia because a moron in Vatican has said some stupid things.
We are going into a dark time in which fanatics of all sides are taking the control of our lives. We should stop them all, whoever they're neo-cons, christian fundamentalists or muslim fundamentalists. People is driving more and more crazy in the 21th century. I can't believe it.

Kamal
How the killing of a single nun can be translated as act of a muslims,
2 guys took a gun and the killed a women, they may be did it to somali women before.
does the entire muslim leadership held a meeting in macca and decided to kill that nun.
Most of the times the western media defame the islamic religion and every muslim knows that do we take up arms and shout death to the westerns hell no.
Believe i heard about that news days after he said it but what i couldnt believe when i saw on the news papers that the muslim world went wild which is not true 90% of the muslims dont even know the pop exists let alone to hear what he comes out from his mouth.

qudhac: Probably you're alright, but what I saw in the news was this: The pope saying that thing about nothing good came in with Muhammad, then muslims in Iran announcing a Friday for Anger, then some muslims burning the German flag and a dummy of the Pope and people shouting death to the West, and then the anounce of the death of a nun in Somalia. Everything seemed to be related to what this Benedictus said.
Of course 90 percent of muslims all over the world are not agree with what is happening. But we see a dangerous minority burning churches and flags and all that, and that minority is the one that we are concerning about. Is Al Qaeda Islam? No. But they say that they're the real Islam. Sooner or later, people will misunderstand Al Qaeda with Islam. Is Bush the West? No. He says he represent the West. But it's a lie. Nevertheless, all people in muslim countries believe that Bush is talking in the name of the West (France, Germany, italy, Sweeden, etc). That's a mistake.
As I said, it's fanatics of all sides who are starting to rule the world.
By the way, how's your bar going?

to make your transition easy you can start with
refusing other religion's/females as equals... eating halaal lamb meat twice or three times a week ...
escorting your wife to the bathroom
