It seems to me that The Islamic Courts are using tactics like nabad restoration, law and order and some sort of stability, to mislead dadkaa 's minds as to what their real motives are. Let's not be naive in pretending that the Islamic Courts are genuine. There is no need to impose harsh rules on dadka oo joogo back home as to control what program they watch on tv and so on. I believe there is more to Sheikh Dahir Aweys than meets the eye; I can't bring myself to trust him completely.

Anyway I'm willing to give them the benefit of the doubt.

Xoog, you were the ICU's biggest supporter, why did you turn your back on them.

xoogsade, i feel u man, siyaasada somalia is changing like the seasons...Maxkamadaha aka Ceyr and Marehan's marriage is about to end or ended and ugly war is about to happen. Do u think those things had something to do with yor condemnation of the ICU?

Horta Ceer yaa siiye Maxkamadaha

Who were the original founders of the Courts?

""NAIROBI, 22 Jun 2006 (IRIN) - Sheikh Sherif Sheikh Ahmed, in his early 40s, was born in Jowhar, 90 km north of Mogadishu. He was educated in Mogadishu and Libya, where he attained a law degree. In an interview with IRIN on Wednesday, he explained how as a school teacher in 2003 in Yaqshiid district of north Mogadishu, one of his students was kidnapped by militiamen who demanded a ransom.

While trying to get the boy released, he and others mooted the idea of an Islamic court to deal with rampant crime and banditry in the area. The community then got together, set up the court and elected him chairman""

The were 13 Original Courts majority of those Courts and the foot soldiers were Abgaal. They defeated the Warlords.

DowladSade

forget sheik awees, abdiqaasim, and indha cade. Banadir waxba ka ma'aha

Anigu maxkamadaha waan taageerayay markii sababtoo ah they did in a few short weeks what no one after the Kacaan did in 16 years and they should be applauded for that. laakiinse sideey cid walboo arrimaha siyaasada udhuun duleesha ka warqabto, shahadii eey maxkamaduhu usocdeen markuu Sheikh Sharif hogaanka hayay waa ladabo maroo carigii Dahir Aweys iyo Indhocade baa ku gal gashay.

bal isweeydii nin soomaaliya nabad laraba maxuu dagaal ula aadayaa meelo maamulo iyo kala dambeeyn leh sida Somaliland, Puntland iyo Jubbaland?

if i'm not mistaken the ICU started as a people's movement and as such should always respect the wishes of the people of every state in the republic Idea

to the rest who said/think i'm withdrawing my support for the maxkamado simply because of what has been going in the news in the last couple of days/weeks, they're absolutely right....... Idea ....... all the top leaders and financiers of the ICU all belong to the same sub-sub-sub clan of hawiye and thus should only rule/administer hawiye lands. lets face it, if somalis would allow a man from a different clan to tell them what to do in their own lands we wouldn't have had the civil war or it wouldn't have lasted this long..... Idea

Xoogsade: Now u see what I was talking about when the ICU headed to dislodge Hiiraale from Kismayo.

Laughing Laughing

I wonder how all those Marexan who left Kismayo to fight for the ICU against the Mogadishu Warlords feel especially those who were injured.

The Marexan and Cayr UNHOLY alliance will come to an end.

Its time for the Marexan to taste some of the ICU Tahliil.

the maxkamado created peace in xamar but seem to be determined to start wars in relatively stable regions like Somaliland, Puntland and Jubbaland while innocent somalis are suffering in the hands of Indhocade and his thugs.

Leave Somaliland out of this. We have nothing to do with Zoomali politics. Our shyt is tight and these guys know it just like every other so called government in Somalia for the last 15 yrs.

Xoogsade, there is a lesson for you here. Never be impressed by action taken during the honey-money period. Temper your assessment of a situation with history, strategy and knowledge
