Smatr, what was your flag then when you got the independence. Mind you, the independence of British Somaliland was initiated to make plans for the reunification. "British Somaliland" was merely a Protectorate like Hobyo Sultanate b4 it was merged into "Italian Somaliland".

Somaliland was actually a country before it joined Somalia proper.
Actually it didn't. There was no Somaaliland or Somaalia before independence. There was however British Protectorate called Soomaliland and Italian colony of Somalia.
Same shit, British Protecorate/Italian Somaliland.
Huh? This is what I said: "There was no Somaaliland or Somaalia before independence." Was there Somaliland before Independence? Answer without equivocation.
My point was there was no thing called Somalila before and northern Somalia had independence before the south.
you know, you might as well say while you're at it: pumpkins can also be horse carriages.

Somalia conists of the south, when people think Somalia they think Xamar. Since the day of the union the development of northern Somalia is the same as the 60's. A good majority of Northern Somalis were against the union. Somalia is synonomous with the south.
Yes there was Somaliland before independence

"Somaliland became British and Italian colonies in the 1880's, although it was ruled solely by the British from 1941 to 1950. In 1960, Italian Somaliland and British Somaliland were united to form an independent Somalia."

http://africanhistory.about.com/library ... ce-EA2.htm

"Somaliland, on gaining its independence from Britain in 1960, was independent for just five days before electing to merge with Somalia, formerly an Italian colony. When it broke away and declared independence in 1991, it kept the British colonial boundaries."

http://lycos.com/info/somaliland--briti ... iland.html
accordance with UN decisions, Italian Somaliland, renamed Somalia, was granted internal autonomy in 1956 and independence in 1960. Britain proclaimed the end of its protectorate in June, 1960, and on July 1 the legislatures of the two new states created the United Republic of Somalia. In the early years of independence the government was faced with a severely underdeveloped economy and with a vocal movement that favored the creation of a “Greater Somalia” encompassing the Somali-dominated areas of Kenya, French Somaliland (now Djibouti), and Ethiopia. The nomadic existence of many Somali herders and the ill-defined frontiers worsened the problem. Hostilities between Somalia and Ethiopia erupted in 1964, and Kenya became involved in the conflict as well, which continued until peace was restored in 1967. The inhabitants of French Somaliland, meanwhile, voted to continue their association with France."
I say give ogadenia to the ethiopians, sign and seal it and let us live in peace with them. What is in Ogadenia to fight for? starving camels and un-appreciative donkeys like Dangirl? Sell Ogadenia to Ethiopia.
If you dont care about ogadenia why have opinion about it in the first place? Maybe its nothing worth fighting for you,but for millions of people its a fight to death.Flithy bastards like yourself have to ruine it for others. Rolling Eyes
