We would not have expelled USSR from our country if it weren't for their strategic shift.
They saw Ethiopia as more important than Somalia and a country to ally with in the Horn to the detriment of our Somalia's relationship with the Soviets. More population means more customers to USSR exports. The Soviets, after the coup, attempted to turn the event to their advantage just like Supreme Revolutionary Council. However it backfired on them and the Scientific Socialism that Mingiste adopted led to his country's demise as well as Somalia.
We should not have attacked that strip of land called "Ogaden". Look now where we are.
Should Abdillahi , the current president, be the only glimpse of hope left for us? It could be.

I do really want to hear it. So shoot.

Dont be so despondent Wadaad. Other nations have encountered the humiliation of defeat and foreign invasion by their worst enemies and survived. Why cant we? Also Ethiopia do really want to leave. What really matters is how the TFG now conducts itself.
Will it be useless or will it establish law and order? That is its first test. We will know in less than a month.

>>It's time that all Eastern African countries to think about something similar of what the European Union has done: to share what's common among all the European countries in order to be stronger and have stability. <<
No offence though and I'm sure you ment it good, but this is typicall a European view of African issues.
Why do Europeans forget the simple fact that Europe first witnessed alot of chaos, conflict and human suffering in order to reach where they are today.
You cannot simply advice others to become like yourself since the two of you have different histories.
In Europe, you had the dynastic Burbons, Habsburgs etc vying for hegemony in Europe, then you had people like Napaloen, Wilhelm II, Hitler trying the same. After many wars, including the two world wars and many political 'wrestling' West-Europe was drawn together by time (post-1945) and a changing world and thus decided that cooperation was the only way to still count in the world as other powers were on the rise.
How in the hell can East Africa with a different history try to emulate West-Europe.
________
We can only have peace with our neighbours and think about an East-African Union when we have restored our pride, unity and have achieved dominance in Horn of Africa. Those are our demands
Lets see wheter the Ethiopian highlanders and the Kenyan Kikuyi's are willing to fullfill our demands in order to live in peace and prosperity with us

Ethiopians are here to stay and fight on behalf of incompetent, unwelcome, despised corrupt men it wants to rule Muqdisho just like it has puppet leaders in Puntland and Somaliland. What makes you think it will leave soon knowing tomorrow the warlords will be chased out of town again? Besides, A/Y needs the locals disarmed so he can come to Muqdisho. He knows he can't come to an unhappy population he has offended numerous times both in words and in action without them being disarmed.
The way I see it, it is a war, a prolonged bloody one many of reer muqdisho will die if the Amxaaro troops and their place-holders like Jeele and Geedi try to disarm people without addressing their concerns.
