Ashlee~

First of all I donÂ’t see the logic in saying oil leaks from Yemen makes Somaliland more likely to have oil reserves.

Secondly, the point I’m trying to make is that they searched for the oil in the north because they thought the conditions are similar to that of the middle least but as yet, they haven’t found anything. There are other locations that are more likely to have oil – central Somalia being an obvious one. If there is potential for oil in Mombasa then there is no reason why there can’t be oil in Southern Somalia.

NO eyes only There is NO OIL IN CENTRAL SOMALIA. I am from Central Somalia and I know that. Laughing

Conoco phillips literally was trying to buy over reer garoowe.

Before you call oil from yemen seeping across to northern Somalia crazy read about it.

"The companies' interest in Somalia clearly predated the World Bank study. It was grounded in the findings of another, highly successful exploration effort by the Texas-based Hunt Oil Corp. across the Gulf of Aden in the Arabian Peninsula nation of Yemen, where geologists disclosed in the mid-1980s that the estimated 1 billion barrels of Yemeni oil reserves were part of a great underground rift, or valley, that arced into and across northern Somalia."

The following link shows more about the oil in the North.

Eyes only you write like Demure Shocked Shocked

The strike on villa Somalia is a stupid move by a group of people who have not taken the reprecussions against this into account.

Those who are rejoicing this act today ,will be crying tommorrow about "xasuuqa shacabka"

Ashlee~ thanks for the links. I donÂ’t know if the only oil in Somalia is from YemenÂ…if it is, that wouldn't be too exciting....what I do know is Kenya and Ethiopia have both entered into contracts for oil explorations in the Somali lands and there is a chance there could be oil there. IÂ’m sure if they explore other regions within Somalia they will be luckier than theyÂ’ve been in the North so far. There could be oil in the Juba regions for all we know.

Those attackers only attack Ethiopian troops. The Ethiopian troops are now in Villa Somalia hence why they got attacked. I donÂ’t rejoice about things like these but I wouldnÂ’t be unhappy either about it. They should not be there in the first place.

Ashlee.... Until a full oil ecxploration has been done on the whole of SOmalia.... i'm afraid that it's impossible to tell where oil can be found and where not with 100% cenrtainty....

And if what you saying is that the further north you go the more the chance .. isaaqs are one lucky lot.. instead of making up you're own theories... why don't chu start making friends with a few.. Laughing
