my parents were from a mmm background.
first m for merchants. they installed all their children in business principles of hard work with strong emphasis on ethics. politically, less tax and unregulated market. full adam smith capitalism.
m number two was the mosque. the whole community was binded together through the mosque. charity to the poor and resolving disputes, engagements was conducted through the mosque. everyone is in the mosque, it was like a community centre. politically, less government involvement and more community involvement into their own affairs.
last m is for music. everyone was a musician and played and sang. politically, again governments to butt out how people entertain themselves. every human loves some type of music and governments have no role curbing it.
we all supported the hutu courts with great jubilation but soon became disappointed when we discovered indhocadde was rewarded for being an oppressor. our support for the tfg is arround 20%. i'm a product of my family. said that, me and my father may not vote for the same individual and we can discuss without an argument.

Nabeela there may be something to this idea of yours. For example, you are Mareexaan and your father has a pathological hatred of Cabdilaahi Yuusuf and Mareexaan. And you swallowed his views unthinkingly. You hate Cabdilaahi Yuusuf and Majeerteen without your even knowing it.
If anyone asks you to explain the reasons why you hate Majeerteen you will deny that you hate them. And if anyone asks you to explain your hatred of CY, you cant come up with any reasons for that hatred. Because it is not based on rational analysis. It is based on inherited, unthinking prejudice.

I'll be honest sometimes I do, sometimes I don't. Funny thing is even tho my parents have different tribes, they have the same view on 99.99% of everything. I guess it's true when you get married you become your husband's tribe. Then again she was Reer waqooyi to begin with so that maybe the glue to their agreed political views. My parents have these friends, the husband is Ogadeen and the lady is Warsengeli (both reer waqooyi) and for some reason she supports Abdilaahi Yusuf and her husband get's pissed off all the time...She is on BBC all day listening for any political news. I must admit I've never seen a woman who is that interested in Somali Politics.
