Global warming is a FACT. What's at contention is if it's of human cause or part of earth's natural cycle which ebbs and flows... periods of extreme cold intermixed with relatively warmer periods. That's the debate. Discounting the nutcases with no credibility and little standing in the scientific world, even the most vociferous nay-sayers don't dispute Global Warming as veritable fact.

You should definately lay off documentaries on Global Warming (both FOR or AGAINST global warming), there seems to be rash of 'em lately contributing nothing but more confusion... they're so woefully inadequate in educating the layperson about the subject, which is very difficult subject on it's own owing mostly to it's inferential nature. We can only infer from the data we have if we're the cause of Global Warming, we can't demonstrate it in laboratory since the time scale involved stretches for thousands of years. There's a lot of data collected over the years, countless studies commissioned and staggering number of reports written on the subject all saying the same. Humans are major contributor to Global warming. Best place to get this information is not the media but in peer-reviewed scientific journals. What does Al Gore or scientifically illiterate journalist know about Global warming or science in general. It's worrying that unqualified gangs mostly pundits have hijacked the debate. Global warming is scientific question although with political and economical dimension but fundamentally it remains question for science to answer.

Here are some facts:

1. The Planet is rapidly warming, unusually so compared to the past 10,000 yrs. This raises the question if humans have somethign to do with it, more so ever since the Industrial Revolution. Industry being a major producer of greenhouse gases which is undisputably the cause of Global Warming.
2. There's consensus that greenhouse gases produced by humans are leading candidate for rapid climate changes observed in past couple hundred years given there's no credible evidence to the contrary. No credible climatologist or expert scientist on Global Warming discounts others factors that maybe the cause.

3. Greenhouse gases HAVE increased sharply in the last 200 years compared to the past 10,000 years.

4. Given what's at stake -- our ability to survive as species on this planet -- and the consensus scientific opinion on Global Warming being we're most likely cause, it makes sense to me to undertake all mitigating steps.

Whatever one may want to call it, it seems the climate/ the weather around the world have been out of sync with melting of the artics, which some claim cause an increase of frequency of hurricanes, torrential rains and maybe sunamis.

when i saw that program the first thing that striked me was the effect all this global warming will have mainly on the developing countries rather than those that pay lip service to "saving the planet". global warming is been used as tool to stop the most destitute countries from developing.
