The practical things and the extra information is all in the hadith, nothing else is accepted, so perhaps you need to know what Sunnah means. The Quran says that the Prophet (scw) is 'the best of examples'...that means we need to follow his example in relation to the diin and how we practice....thats where my 'practicality' comes into it.

Having that knowledge does not make anyone love him, it enriches our knowldge of him....I love the Prophet scw through his actions, not how many children he had and what their names were. That said....I still think the information is useful for taariikhta Islaamka etc.

Dont tell me what I mean by my own statements. If someone wants to be a Muslim, you need to know all the practical things, you need to know the Quran, you need to understand Tawhiid, you need to understand how to please Allah and what earns his wrath etc ect ect....there is an enormous amount of very important things that needs to be learnt...THAT is what I meant by my statement.
