It's always them that advocate for black unity and other ridiculous notions. You never find such attitudes among European Somalis for whatever reason. Even though Europe is much whiter than America.

Somalis are bullied by cadans because they are black but when somalis say they are black the african americans tell them they are not black but somalian pirates so somalis are confused and suffer from identity crises. That is why most adopt the black culture to fit in it.

Im a half somali half Ethiopian girl, and i lived with ,my ethiopian side for most of my life so I dont know if this is a common experience amongst Somalis, but one thing I notice is that African americans will only call you black if his interested in your women. Ive seen African americans call somalis and Ethiopians, especially those with silky hair, pirates and they wont treat you as black but when they see a beautiful cushitic woman, suddenly they are pan Africa pro black maclom X wannabees. Its always been about the women, trust me, I get hit on by African American men and they constantly tell me they dont see us as related to blacks, especially habesha women.

They pretty much worship habesha women these days lol. "Yooo, my Ethiopian queen. Lemme holla atchu real quick". Even rappers are beginning to appreciate that habesha beauty.

Somalis have a bad rep in the black community due to overt racism/xenophobia. Habeshas are more lowkey with their bigotry. If only these other blacks knew lol.

I don't see a problem with people discussing current "hot topics" such as the BLM/police brutality thing that's going on in America, or topics relating to racial politics/identification etc..
