i'm sorry to say but that woman does not live in a society where other people make choices for her. she has the RIGHT to drink alcohol whenever she pleases and with whomever she pleases. the fact that she was drinking does in no way mean that she "deserved" to be raped. granted she should have taken precautions against such things, nevertheless, the law exists to PROTECT society from those who go against it's laws, one of which is "thou shall not molest, no matter how drunk the victim is".

Because Texas is a conservative Red state where the punishment for crimes (felony, misdemeanor, etc) committed are usually harsher and oftentimes enforced. So, if you live in the East Coast, that probably means Virginia.
