dude Afoworki is an animal when Meles was about to give succession to Ogaden it was Eritrea that said No!
When we started kicking the ass of TPLF
Eritrean Soilders came in roughly 10,000(TPLF+Eritreans) perished in the war.
When Eritrea greed led to fall out with Meles we were happy.
when the 1998 & 2001 happened
Afaworki regreted why he never split the Ogaden from Ethiopia.
While The Ethiopians were unable to break the empasse(The mine belt) the Somalis platoon in the Ethiopian army out manouvered the Eritrean strategy and overrun Zalambesa and had penetrated the Eritrean front.
Its the UN that finally forced Ethiopia to retreated but Eritrea was almost history.
Thats now why Afaworki is working on a grand plan of using rebels to oust Meles.
first of all you are talking BS...eritrea NEVER wanted ethiopia to disintegrate and they STILL DONT WANT IT! afwerki even said this in interview. Secondly ethiopia NEVER penetrated Zalambessa front...the only front ethiopia penetrate was in Badme front and how they managed to do this is still a debate (some say they were given satelite image of eritrean positions so they managed to sneak around them and attack from behind...i have many relatives who were there and fought and told me so). And that bullshiet "eritrea was almost history" is laughable...how come after the eritreans withdrew at zalambessa ethiopians went on a full scale offensive on bure front trying to capture Assab??? this happened over one week after Meles agame said "the mission is accomplished in eritrea" and you saw the result...ethiopians laying slaughtered everywhere in the battlefield i can even show u link for this! So before you start talking about eri or issayas do some reading...
Go and bullshit nonesence to your fellows Eritreans we actually know what happened.
Afaworki is a rascal.
Thinking that he can rule the whole horn and attack every neighbouring nation.
He deserves the Ethiopian wrath
there is too much cuqdad and pride amongst somalis. even a war on Islam isn't enough to unite them under one flag.
If you do a little history you will find out that Eritrea was independent before....Eritrea was illegally put under ethiopian administeration by the british and UN in 1952. In 1961 under empieror selasie they illegally with the help of USA turned Eritrea into a province of Ethiopia,,which lead to Eritrea in 1991 gaining independence once again.
Somalians in reality get along with Eritreans and see them as friends, but you might think that ethiopia is a friend because it wants somaliland independece........it doesnt it wants to seperate somalia and somaliland formally and later expand ethiopian border into somaliland for sea acess.

Re: Can a common enemy make nations best friends?
How refreshing to see screw taking part in a topic filled with tribal views.assalam alaikum brothers and sisters, I'm half Eritrean and Egyption and every time I meet Somalis and tell them I am Eritrean, they show me love and vise-versa, my Eritrean friends buy Somalis free meals all the time for simply being Somali. My question is, can a common enemy (Ethiopia) make people close friends? How true is this?
In-fact, the Eritreas Christian Government is as bad as the Ethiopian crusaders. We can never be best friends neither both of them and currently it would be very true to say that there isnt friendships or anomies in Somalian politics but only mutual interest.
