This is utter bullshit,

Kenyans especially the ones around Nairobi live in much higher lands than Ethiopians but are very blick (almost blue black).

Mixture with Arabians gave them the lighter color. Unmixed Ethiopians like the Western Nilotes whom also live in the highlands don't have a lighter color either.

When they say Somali are they referring to a particular tribe ?
Abdiwahab, this is exactly what I pointed out to Dawwo.

The miskiin must come from a clan derided and has so gotten used to not having a place in the Somali line of descent, he feels vindicated now to the point of destroying all other opinion by force even though it has been brought to his attention that even the Geneticists admit the problems with their tests which was of the clan bias.

Now this guy posts three back to back Somalis guys who fit HIS model of what Somalis should look like and three Arabs who are even lighter than the normal Arab and then goes at me with some petty stuff like "some Marehan from south Somalia" all to so we can shut up and make him feel vindicated.

What the hell would force a whole nation to have the same origins...we are diverse and should celebrate it...not feel inferior.

I was right. The kid is Paidmonk. Paidmonk we have already seen each other on facebook laddie and you had the audacity to ask me a question such as this:
Voltage

I don't want to get tribal but I don't think a Marehan living in a mud-hut in extreme southern Somalia carries any Arab blood, It would be more logical that the ones that actually tested positive on Arab blood are from the North i.e. Somaliland and Puntland or the coastal areas in the south.

Don't worry, it is the bane of history the Majeerteen sultanantes dallied with the Zanzibars   j/k btw

Voltage,

A better sampling would be more conclusive:

1. NonArab claiming Tribe with very little intermarriage with foreigners or Arab claiming Somalis like Abgaal, Baadicade

2. Rer Xamar/Banadiiri/Brava

3. Arab claiming tribes

Abdiwahab there are many things wrong with your first line (I agree with the second and third).

In the first line, it is a well known fact that the Abgaal were the only group in Somalia to marry the Italians and why did you conveniently leave Habar Gidir out?

80 years ago you lived in Hiiraan, and it was only 50 years when your upward move in search of grazing land was recorded. Did you perceive yourself as a "northern clan" in terms of descent?

Voltage,

I chose Abgaal because they rarely intermarried with Darood, Arabs & other foreign elements. I view them as one of the most authentic Hawiye clans: linguistically and culturally.

As for leaving out the Northern Hawiye, HG, like me is because we intermarried with the Darood so that contaminates the Authentic Hawiye DNA. HG have been living in Hiiraan mainly Cayr who settle there. The most northern HG, Sacad, have been in Mudug for more than the 50 years you claim.

Abdiwahab, I think you have seen enough reports here that precisely record Marehan as the group south of the Majeerteen without one word of any Hawiye group residing in the area. It was only when we see the great Marehan migration to Gedo and Jubbas (Galti Wave following the successful Guri campaigns) that we see records of Habar Gidir settling in the vacated land. What time you come does not matter, as long as you understand it was a northern push than northern origins so that leaves you squarely in the first batch.

Understand also that DNA tests SPECIFICALLY uses the Y-chromosomes, meaning markers gotten from your father. It does not matter what Darood you married as long as you are not illigitemate and you are your father's son. Basically you are squarely part of group one.

As I said before, Abgaal is not a pure grouping. Over time they have incorporated Bantu elements as well as the Italians of this century. Many offpsring of paternal Italian origin were fitted into the clan organization. The untainted Hawiye are Gaaljecel, Baadicadde, etc.

Darood is 1 clan out of 6 clans.

1/6*100=16.66%

Exactly as I had though. Even the Genetic tests do not lie.

Nobody ever denied Dir and Hawiye and the rest are full blooded indeginous or that some groups in Raxanweyn were of Bantu descent.
Asalamu alikum

Does that mean we have more claim to somalia than you non-indigenous people? I am after all Hawiye.

I believe that the Somalis are their own ethnicity, and that we have inter-married with the Arabs, and other races. Although as people we don't like to mix too much :)

somalia ha noolato :somalia: :rose:

Voltage,

Regardless whether it is Abgaal, we both agree that there should be testing done on a several clans that have very little intermarriage with other clans from different tribes or foreigners.

As for the Marexan migration, I can confirm from oral history that Marexan and Majeerten once bordered each other in Mudug before the northern expansion of the Sacad.

There are few Abgaal who intermarried with Bantus

Enlightened,

Whats funny about Baddicade ?

Voltage, Yes I am from one of the northern Arab claiming clans, but I still think its bullshit but at least we have more legitimacy in claiming Arab blood than a Marehan from Bumbu Congo village in Gedo living in a mud hut and eating with twigs and flies all around him

Stupid insecure wannabe Arab..

Well the optimal sampling would be of the clans, large and small, of Somalia.
Though perhaps this should wait till after the civil war is over.
