Someone I know works in the private sector *newly graduate aswell* and he gets paid slightly more, town & regional planner waaliba.

Congratulations Cali-Gaab. Start saving money in order to be your own boss in the future and buy your own business. If you are not business oriented, you can do whatever you want with your money eventually. It is great to have financial freedom.
Up to now from January I made $64,000 US dollars. Last year as a whole I made $51,000 as an income. Next year on paper I am supposed to make $40,000 with the exclusion of overtime pay inshallah even though it will come close to or above what I made this year so far. Sadly, I have saved only $12,000 half of which will go to a semi-new used car. At least I don't rely on anyone except on Allah. I have been working over ten years.
