I do not personally like going to wedding at all, too much judgement placed on individuals. They can wear diraac which shows their bra's and stomach, but God forbid someone wears a dress and you get stared at like you walked in with the devil.

My first cousin is having a wedding cermony..only women..Some of our relatives are insisting that the only entertainmnet she will have is Arabic Raqas..Songs in Arabic in which the girls will be doing a belly dancing stuff which I personally can't stand

My question is, what makes the Somali songs Harram and Arabic songs Halaal...

for some people it is pure ignorance and for others it is because they have lived in the middle east and are more familiar with arabic music than somali like somali kids raised in the west are more familiar with hiphop and other western music than somali. personally i have never been to a wedding where they played even a single arabic song. i would not be at a wedding where they played arabic music for even few minutes, i would doze off really quick. arabic music is kindda gay to me but to each his own.

this is the reason i advice, islamic education for kids than cultural teaching.
to differ between what is cultural and what is deen and what is cultural but islamic acceptable but cultural and what is a culture but against islam.
