I always meet interesting people that sit next to you in those type flights.

The coolest guy I met was the guy that owns ''Peace Hotel'' Mogadishu

From this article (Times magazine) http://www.time.com/time/world/article/ ... 07,00.html

He had some interesting stories from high ranking UN officials staying at his hotel, even Abdullahi Yusuf stayed there frequently and many other prominent Ex-TFG members. He was carrying a laptop with some awesome footage of warfare next to his hotel that nearly looked like a movie but was reality.

dawwa,

has the food in puntland improved man, or is it still baasto or bariis or a new phenomenon from Hell: baasto and bariis combo. I remembered when I went there, even hamburgers and french fries was unheard of.

I met this uncle from gaalkacyo in dubai, straight up baadiyo, and he tells me he just has to go to dubai once a year to eat like a human being, the baris basto, basto baris routine was literally driving him crazy...he said he was praying for somebody, anybody to successfully introduce kebab and shoarma to somalia.

The only food items Puntland lacks are:

Large fruits other than Mangos, Bananas, Dates and Coconuts.

Diary products other than Camel milk! Even Camal milk is not probably contained.

Chicken meat, They look down on chicken meat, the fck? It tastes better but they consider it for the 'poor', all they want are large pieces of red meat (camel, beef, goat).

lol@ eating like a human being.(laughs at the direct translation in somali) How much of a stretch is it really, seeing how we have all of these goats and lamb. Besides, everyone eats at a Maqaaxi in magaalada. My brother was tellin me that there were only certain times of the days that things were being served. You'd basically have to wait until the next mealtime if u want something to eat or eat on their schedule. Did it not drive you crazy? Some places in Europe are like that too, ayaan maqlay. lol.

Dawwa: is it because they dont have much poultry (chicken?) do you think. lol. Misa dhaqan bii ka tahay.

Iam wondering why people even fly them? Isnt there another way to get back home. I know they send their Boeing jet's to Paris and London Gatwick. All i have to do is fly from ATL to Paris and have a 2 hour layover and board a brand new Airbus jet to land in Djibouti. If i had the money i would love to start my own airline especially with Emb145 jets since they can haul alot of people and land in bad runways.

Isn't there other airplanes to take? :|
yes there is another airline by the name of star african airlines, and the funny thing is that shit makes daallo airline looks like a 5 star airline. star airline will give you a trip of a life, you know how they say when a person is about to die, their whole life flash before them, well star african airline will give to you a 5 hour documentary of your life  . you will experience every emotion possible for A human being. it will make an athiest a true believer in GOD.
in 2004 half of extended famaily (27) and i went to somalia and the fly from london to dubia was pleasant and memorable. then unfortunately we came into contact with the somali airlines. Daallo was the first, we was suppose to board our flight at 10pm but the plane turned up at 4am. and when we boarded the plane the first thing i notice was the heat  . now this is dubia in july it is like 40 degrees outsides but banaaka baa diyaarada ka qaboobaa. my uncle look at me and said war adeer meeshu kululaa, marka aay diyaaradu kacdo ee aay qoraxda uu dhowaato, armeey na karisaa
then five hours later ilahay baad ducadii naga aqbalay oo jubuti baanu gadhnaye. :| then when you though things couldnt get worse we saw african airlines the plane that was about to take us to somalia  . walahay that was truely a horrific sight, dadkii baa mar uun diyaaradii ku cararay, i asked my uncle what was going and he said war soo orod kurasida waa loo tartamayaayee. then when we got to the plane, i had the shock of my life, i swear i suspected that the planes tyres were flat and the body of the plane looked like it has been put together by a tumaal (no offence intended). that is when when two of my uncles looked at each other and one of them said to the other warya heerka oo dhanii diyaaradan wada raacimayaan, kuligee miyeeynu is bimeenkarnaa   and with that we left half of the family in jubuuti. during flight that the plane started to shake violently every half hour when we were flying over mountains. and that is when i looked at my uncle who was seated next to me and said adeer and he said haa. i looked at him in the face and i said for the first time in my life ee adeer i love you :| and he looked at me and said war waa maxaay i love you, war nagayahow nagu dhalaya xiniyaha is qabo
