Re: lets talk history
Ajuuraan do have a qabiil.
Ibrahim (aka Balcadde) married Faduma Jambele Hawiiye and had five sons: Ulagiire, Aruure, Garuure, Hintire and Aadan.
Ajuuraan is the son of Aqiil who is the son of the aforementioned Aadan.
Ibrahim's abtiris goes like this: Ibrahim Alama (aka Baqoon) Balcad Edimole Kaale Faas Sarman Lolay Xantis Xarmalle Shimaal.
Shimaal is then (depending on who you ask) a descendant of Aqiil ibn Abu Talib, Madanleh, or is just another pronounciation of Samaale.

Jama Dahir
Can you tel us how the Ajuuraan lost their sultanate?
How come Hawiye sided with Darood and Dir to bring down the Ajuuraan Sultanate if they are related?
there are ancient stone ruins throughout South and Central Somalia known as the "dhagax aruuriska Ajuuraan"
seems the Abgaals learnt how to carry heavy load on their shoulders from this Ajuuraan project.
I think this is the "History" our Ajuuraan freind wants us to discuss, its boring but it beats talking about the current situation.

Re: lets talk history
The Ajuuraan ruled southern Somalia and all others were their vassals. During their tenure as rulers they of course built up a list of grievances with their subject clans, who basically all banded together one day to destroy them. I believe the main problem was their tax collectors. That is just what I've heard in the various legends, no proper history has been written.JaMaaL-23 wrote:Jama Dahir

Abgaal, far from being slaves of Ajuuraan were actually quite closely regarded by the ruling Ajuuraan. Cusmaan Darandodle married the granddaughter of the founder of the Gareen Dynasty, Faadumo Saarjecele and Cali Cusmaan, better known as Abgaal, was their son.

What do you know of King Gareen? He founded the empire, but beyond that I don't know much about the man.

Re: lets talk history
Rahanweini oral history tells about the Ajuuraan and how forces led by the Gelidi of the Rahanwein and the Moobleen of the Hawiye defeated the Ajuuraan Sultanate of Mogadishu around 1600s. After that the Ajuuraan settled among the Rahanwein & the Hawiye and some of them went on to settle in Ethiopia & Kenya. as a result today large numbers of the Ajuuraan are found within the Rahanwein and a smaller number within the Hawiye. Therefore, an Ajuuraan person can and do claim to be either a Rahanweini or a Hawiye depending on with whom they reside. They also stand a separate minor Somali clan. Some members of the Ajuuraan that remained in Mogadishu define themselves as being of the Reer Hamar (Benadiri)
Cushite which Ajuuraan are you
Hawiye ajuuraan
Rahanwein Ajuran
or shaanshi ajuuraan

Jamaal, IRIR has produced two great civilisations.
The Walashma dynasty of Northern Somalia (a union of Dir tribes) and the Ajuuraan dynasty of Southern Somalia (a union of Hawiye tribes).
