I say
ignore these other guys, who seem to be having a brief incursion to 18th century Somali nomad mentality. Talking about your wife, would be discussing her looks and what she says, but this is a family thing, and as such there is no harm in it.
I suppose it is also embarrassing for one to admit they,
'love' their wife?
