The majority of Somalis hold a subconsciously opinion about the maadhibaans, your father is not alone. The thing is not that they look down on them or anything it`s just that they are not willing to be the ones too take the step towards equality between Madhibaans and Daroods,Hawiyes,Issaqs Dir etc. Waxay is leyihiin arma laydinku caya ma la yiraahda " kaasi nasabkisa baa midgaan ah"
This is what I realized after my trip too Somalia, they don`t have anything against these people they just fear the opinion of others, that`s why don`t marry from them or mix with them.
With that being said, Midgaans are Somalis and I don`t look down on them, but I wouldn`t like my sisters too marry from them not because they are worth less then me in any sense, but because I know Somalis...waa jaahilin they would make your life a living nightmare.

Ya?Voltage wrote:SahanGalbeed, it might seem ironic to you but this very strong progressive position I have on the Somali caste system is a direct inheritance from the polices of the late president. I have even called out my parents and used against them their admiration for the late president when they were not willing to go all the way in endorsing this progressive position. It is only when I read to my parents one of Siad's speeches abolishing the terms "Midgaan iyo aji" did my father said today I became a real Muslim (because even though he was a good and godfearing Somali man, subconsciously he held a bias he never was willing to shed).![]()

The average somali looks more beautiful than a big nosed nigerian ape.If that is beautify then Blacks < Somalis < Arabs < Medit Whites < North Whites. Way to go, you are just a schit follower
Maybe, you are forgetting that this guy shares a clan name with you

Re: Nigerian women angry about Xalimoos
Both of you need to check yourself. But this is typical of the normal Somali traits that should have long been erased by selection. Fact of the matter is have any of you even thought about what Voltage has said on this issue before trying to seem as if you have an argument?
For reference, things Voltage has said in response to the primitive and unexplainable Somali caste system where some minority clans are considered undesirable by the largely illiterate, backward, and nomadic majority

Well, what can i say sxb,You just picked up the part which suits well your argument.heh,Everyone is truly entitled to his or her opinion and that is not something i would like to discuss here.
What irks me is that you constantly cheerlead for the stupid white racists when they diss your people and suddenly you are demorilized when one of us say something bad about the nigerians.TELL US why does it bother you? Try to answer this Question with out digressing.
The Only thing we agree on is that those people you called"Madhibans" are victims of injustices within the somali social structure, but this social stratification happens everywhere and not something unique to somalis.
Only an illiterate fool May regard voltage as a progressive somali. One time You seem him preaching and giving lectures on somali Nationalism and how great somalia is and then within a short period of time,He is in the clan section wallowing in Qabyaalad iyo Qurun.wtf.
I guess some of the the enlightened members Agree with me on this issue.period

Re: Nigerian women angry about Xalimoos
1man, you are trolling now my friend.
Xamud, that is exactly the reason. I have said it time and time again, Somalis are surface people who only care about how people look at them. The madhibaan used to make shoes, today Somalis cut hair and bag pig...what is the reason for the existence of the Madhibaan label again? Very contradictory.
Goljano, Nabeela has xoriyad. Cid wax u dhisayso majirto, that's badow mentality.
Sahan, its not so much about the late president as my parent's subconscious bias being shown to them.
Twisted, I stand by what I said.
Addow, the Somalis have physical features against the more superior Nigerians whereas everything written about us, from racists or not, is actually true and reflective of the Somali reality...namely we are the anus and cesspool of humanity. Don't cry about it, accept it because it is the truth and it is of our own making. We should spend more time thinking of solutions instead of crying foul that others describe as we have made our self.

Re: Nigerian women angry about Xalimoos
Wallahi you hit the nail on the head there, I was have a discussion with my mother about if I was to marry a madhibaan and she said she would be against it, at first I was shocked to hear her say that because she doesn't even like talking about qabiil and hates somali siyaasad but then I understood her reasons because it was not because she looked down on them but the fact that my wife and children would have a hard time with all the other somali families constantly putting them down. As for me I was brought up in the west so I didn't even know about qabiil until a couple of years ago so that actually helped me from being qabiilist towards all other clans and putting down 'lower' clans.Xamud. wrote:Voltage

Also regarding this topic we, as in all ibn adam, breath the same air we all need to eat and shit and we will all die at some point so why should a certain group of people be looked down upon.
