If Israel did have relations with Somaliland it would have very little to gain from it. As oppose to Somaliland who would benefit a lot. If Somaliland was rich in resources, I would guarantee countries would be lining up to have any relationship with it. It really comes down to the fact of what countries can *Gain* from the recognition of Somaliland. Also, I suspect many countries see the chaos in Mogadishu synonymous with the rest of Somaliland.

The Whole Point of Somaliland was to gain Political Attention from "other" Somalis iyo the International Community, it was never actually meant to secede. Egal felt like a forgotten lost little boy in the middle of no where. After the overthrow of Siyad Barre the International community stepped into Somali Politics and in every Somali Peace conference Darood iyo Hawiye were the only people spoken off and every other Somalis didn't really exist, that must have really pissed of Egal who was sitting in most of these conferences.

I believe the objective has been reached, atleast that of Egal, Ildoors will not be a Major Political player in Somali Politics anytime soon but at least your name will be said at the conference table and your voices will be heard. One step at a time you never know one day, just like Obama became President of the United States we just might make an Ildoor a President about 50 years from now.
