Ok Dumbass 2.

Now, could you help me with your terminology of Dumbassy Somali tribes?

who are the Hutus? I am guessing Hawiye. Correct
Who are the Dooros? Darrod. Correct
Who are the Ilkayars? Have no idea. Marexan
Who are the Eelay? No clue. They're Raxanweyn, Mirifle
Hope that helps :|

Thanks. Now, I can follow the qabiil politics on Snet. Does the word Eelay have a meaning in Somali? I have seen Raxanwhen brothers and sisters in France and Canada and they are just like us but they speak a different language I couldn't catch anything

^If you've managed to remain ignorant about qabiil politics this long, its probably best to stay that way, nothing good comes from it

True  But I am interested in the qabiil politics not as a qabilist but to know Somali people better and read what others have to say. Probably it helps to have family ties to different somalis regions. I met the first people from Somalia (other than relatives) when I lived in France and I actually didn't find them aabilist. I find people become qaabilist online. I have seen Somalians living together all tribes included and sharing everything and was actually surprised to not see any grudge and that was right after he war in 1993-94. I also asked one time a Djiboutian who had family in Qabiley area about how people felt after killing each other. He said it was people in the West that kept more grudge but that in the village of grand parents people weren't mad about tribe anymore.

Ahmed42 wrote:Can you tell me about the Mejerteen and Warsangali. My grand mothers were from these clans. I know the Mejerteen was Ismaan Maxamuud but that's all. I also know the first president of unified Somalia was Abdirashiid Ali Sharmake a MJ. On the Warsangali, I don't know much other than my uncle who used do business in Bosaso before the war and who passed away after.
How are these clans doing today? I believe most of them are in Puntland. Do the MJ live in the Southern part of Somalia like the Ogaden and Marehan? Are they in the AlShabaabs? Hope my questions aren't too naive but hey I just want to learn.
Warsangeli today reside primarily in Maakhir, not Puntland.

It's not surprising that your uncle did business in Bosaso, merchants in Puntland are largely Warsangeli.

Disregard that nonsense, it's not a part of Somaliland. People who know nothing tend to say unintelligent things.

Any idea what sub-clan your grandmother was, saxib?

I'm sure I explained this at length, don't be petty.

No need to do research. 98% of material about Makhir you find will be my original content, be it Wikipedia or otherwise. Save yourself time and get your information straight from the source.

I have no idea. Too many clans to remember. I get the idea Maathir is between Somaliland and Puntland.

Mad May, thanks I will check Wiki to see what they have to say.
