Let me first say, the thread wasn't about wether Somalis be seperated or not...But it seems you are more interested in that area....

a). Great India, Great Soviet Union etc can't be compared to a tiny Somalia.I think you are comparing oranges and apples here...How can you compare a tiny tiny country with a population of almost 12 million with an alomst 1.5 billion population?

Why don't you look at the Germans that have came together? Why didn't the United States Of America...Seperated into 50 nations? Because they know one thing:

There is no denying that qaad is the root of the majority of family breakdowns in the west and back home, however how can qaad be the reason somalia is in this state, when the majority of somalis from koonfur don't even chew. I would say qabyaalad is the root of all evils as to why we are in this state. In saying that I believe that if qaad were to be banned the cosequences would be worse than ever as then it would be sold in the black market for more money and the ones who can't afford it would fight with those that can afford it.

It's not about khat . Others have explained why.
It's not about qabil because there are other societys that also have qabil and they just don't use it as severly as Somalis do.do they?

It's about greed and power.

Examples:

1. A business man wants to hire an employee. He chooses the one that is most related to him,(qabil) Instead of hiring someone that is the most qualified. Why? it probably benefits his tribe inturn beneffting him-->.it's about greed and power. It would benefits society as whole if the qualified is hired.

2. There was a former leader of Somalia that retained leadership for 20 years? leadership in Somaliland is prolonging.his stay"problems with elections?' Somali leaders over stay their term.--->It's about greed and power.

3. Somalia has gone through one ruling group after the next. IUC, TFG, Al Shabaab etc. Everyone want's to be in charge--->It's about greed and power.
