Hey, no one's advising you to commit Haram. Don't be friends with guys, that's your prerogative. All I'm asking is what was the point of this thread? To make the poor guy look like a creep for asking for your number ( on a crowded train no less
)?
You already said he seemed perfectly normal. He spoke to you for a bit AND THEN asked for your number. He didn't jump @ you right after giving you his seat & ask for your number nor did he randomly approach every other woman on the train and ask her for her number..No, he asked YOU for YOUR number after speaking to you. You either give him your number or you don't. No need to come on Snet & make an innocent incident seem like it was some perverts attempt at getting into your pants.
No wonder Somali guys complain about Somali girls. They're pretty much deemed rapists for just asking for a girls number.

1. I wasn't trying to suggest that anyone was advising me to commit haram. Sexy-kitten was commenting on me not having male friends and I was just explaining that my general position for not having males friends was because I consider it to be prohibited in Islam.Serena wrote:Hey, no one's advising you to commit Haram. 2. Honestly I just wanted to see whether other people had these "rules",and whether they would break them in that situation. I did say it only required a quick yes or no answer. If it wasn't in a packed public place..this wouldn't be an issue.
3.Lol seriously...that's where its going to end up right? I know he wasn't going to jump me right there and then, but he'd want something more eventually.
Im not trying to make out that he's a perv...just that he put me in an akward position.

Ms.Erudite,
I honestly wouldn't give my number out like that either. I don't see the point why these girls are making a fuss about it seriously... you know people are different and approach this situation differently.

OK, now if that's the case and you know it Why did you ask for opinion? Nobody is gluing you to the guy. It just doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out what you're gonna say. I'm not you, only you would know how you're feeling at the moment. LET YOUR HEART SPEAK GIRL!!! It shall set you free lol.Ms.Erudite wrote:Lol but that's exactly what a guy who only knows what you look like wants..right? He had no other reason for asking for my number...I would playing dumb if I said later on that I only wanted to be friends, when we both know that there's only one reason for us talking.sexy-kitten wrote:No but you said you don't have male friends. You can have male friends. Sure they'll try to hit on you at first but once they figure out that you're not that interested, they can make the best of friends. Or, maybe you guys can be friends at first and see how things go.Ms.Erudite wrote:Since when does having no male friends equate to having no contact with guys.
Lol so you really think the way to get married is to give your number out to guys on the street? I personally don't believe in the whole "getting to know each other as friends first" before getting married.
If I were you, I'd give my number if he sounded like a decent guy who looked like he had manners. You don't HAVE to marry every guy you give your number to. Just think of it as a form of networking. You have enough female friends, why not have a couple'a guy friends? It doesn't mean you have to date him. He'll slow down if he you throw hints that you ain't interested.
In general though I don't have male friends because I believe its forbidden in Islam.

Can we lie in situations like this?
No, I probably would not do it, and if I did it would be only because I feel guilty and beholden to him for giving me his seat.
