I don't believe people suddenly turn into bigots; he probably possessed a level of latent prejudice that her senses weren't acute enough to pick up.

BlackVelvet wrote:Hypothetically speaking, imagine you were married to a man from a qabiil that traditionally does not get along with yours. Things go well despite this because qabiil has never been a part of your life in the first place. Now, one day when you're sitting together he gets a phone call and he seems pretty disturbed by the news he just received. Dude is shouting and cussing getting more upset my the minute. Saying things like "Maya maya, we can't let this happen, saas madhici karto..." By the time he's hung up, he's talking to himself seemingly in shock. You ask then what's wrong and he tells you. "My niece heblayo mexeey rabtaa in ey guursato nin oo qabiil X ah" Then you say, why are you so upset about that? He looks at you in shock and goes "ma gabar oo cidaheyna aa gursaneyso nin qolohaas katirsan, ma nin kale mey weysey? Uff akkhhh..." blah blah blah he goes on and on and on. Now you are sitting there wondering at which point he forgot that you yourself are qabiil X...

This man is still cussing, then all of a sudden he stops as though he just remembered something, then he slowly turns to look at you.

You...(insert your responce)

It just doesn’t add up.
You can’t diss your in lows and say they’re beneath you. That is simply unsomali in our culture.
If this guy does, which I highly DOUBT, where did he get the confidence to do it in front of you?

I don’t believe the story. If they were good enough for him why not for his niece? That is the question.!!!!

It's hypothetical but something like this did happen to a friend of an aunt and she did divorce him. I guess she was asking herself the same question.

GedoGurl,

Real talk, I am sure it is quite easy to forget a minor fuss like this, plus who in their right mind divorce solely on qabiil beef ? How would it reflect on your garoobinimo status ? Why was he/she divorced ?

At the end of the day, I'd rather marry someone from a far off strange qawiil than my own. If things don't pan out, I will never see Xalimo again unlike if we were kin: see her & her fugly fam @ the weddings, funeral, Allabari, xuska etc

Hypothetically, she should shoot herself by marrying such filth, hypothetically.

That is my hypothetical answer for the hypothetical hypotheses
