ps. If this attack has anything to do with XI, then it is most likely the work of the the Ahmad Madobe, which is not really part of the XI anymore, but has some sympathisers within XI.

Illahaay ha uu naxariisto, good way to go though. The blasts happened while people were sitting inside Abdala Shideye mosque, waiting for noon prayers. Most of those killed and wounded were worshippers," local businessman Ahmed Abdulle told the BBC
KEEP THE POLITICS OUT OF THIS THREAD
The views of the guy's family don't really count. The family is as much a victim as the ones that were brutally taken away that painful day. The point is that the suicide bomber left Denmark, went to Mogadishu and was found to be in that very same hotel. One can slant and twist it, but it simple really. Furthermore, there survivors that made it out alive on that day and their statements makes it clear that there was a suicide bomb. There is no doubt that the suicide bomber belonged to Al Shabab. They are the only ones that carry out suicide bombs. And Yes, the Hotel Shamo bombing was a government target for Al Shabab. Many government officials died in that attack.hanqadh wrote:TW
Sxb I'm not defending the Shaamo attack or any other attack here, Prof.Cadow was one of my favourite Political personalities in Somalia. It was a tragedy of immense proportion. But there is space for considerable doubt in many minds after the emotion dissolved as to who really set those bombs off.The man who was designated as the bomber was later dismissed by close freinds and Family as a victim. So what was the bomb and were there any bombers/bomber? it remains unanswered.
Al-shabab very much began local and there links with Terrorist with Terror networks have matured over that period, although the ideology and certain figures have been affliated with Alqeada before.Nevertheless there is no doubt Al-shabab has now become an Al-Qeada franshise, still the majortiy of there attacks including suicide attacks have largely been directed at Goverment and affiliate entities.Obviously we cant overlook there mamoth abuse of the public by enforcing there foreign ideology.
The whole point of this is Shabaab despite there reign of Terror are not known to be in this business of Mosque bombings, and unless we can prove this it remains so.Specifically in Somalia where religious sectarianism does not involve this form of warfare. This is a new addition to the conflict, whether its apart of the trajectory of the Somali conflict remains to be seen.Al-shabab despite there limitations i think would be wary of attacks on schools or mosques, its simplistic to label them as that gullible to be inviting there own demise.
I understand where you are coming from, but, if it walks like a duck, quacks like a duck, looks like a duck, it must be a duck. Only One group in Somalia is known for suicide bombings and only one group has so far targeted mosques. Al Shabab has planted bombs in mosques in Somaliland, actually fought within a mosque few weeks back near Afgoi and routinely assassinates people as they leave the mosque. If they are capable of assassinating people as they leave the masjid, what is stopping them from attacking them within the masjid?hanqadh wrote:I will support anything that opposes Shabab till there eradicated but my argument is, It doesnt give anyone a reason to condone an attack on a mosque even if its Al-shabab controlled, at the end of the day its a mosque.Although its hard to do, trying to put some objectivity on the issue of Shabab and there attacks and how that relates to there behavioural and ideological trend through out the conflict was what i was trying to bring out when questioning the Shaamo attacks. We cant blindly label anyone and anything because of pre-conceived assumptions without careful consideration.
