I have traveled through many airports and the most courteous towards me have been Arab and European airports (Netherlands is my top airport in terms of how I am consistently treated by customs and even Egypt was not bad). For my above assumption, I remember once flying out of Nairobi and I was treated as expediently nd courteously as any Westerner while two Somalis with British passports but with African accents and mannerisms were treated harshly. I have also flown out of heathrow on one occasion without any hassle only to look back and see a fellow Somali American from Minneapolis being given a hard time because he seemed like the typical Somali. I flew out of Edmonton, Canada just recently a Somali with me on the plane was given a hard time as well while I didn't even so much get more than a few one liner exchanges with customs. I would say it is not only Somalis, I have flown out of Cape Town once without any second looks while Nigerian and Ghanians with Western passports were treated as if they had to be vetted entirely. The one airport where I was ever treated as I would assume some of the Somalis in this topic were treated was in Minneapolis and that's because I had flown in from international during a time when the Somali kids stuff was going on. I was taken out of the line up, put in a room to wait for 20 minutes and had to answer very private and confidential details about my life that they had answers to. Still, they let me go after 5 minutes and I was able to board my transit plane at the last second.

p.s. The only other airport I had ever gotten a hassle was Vancouver, BC and that's because I had flown in internationally on the same day as the would be Nigerian Christmas bomber. Let's just say that was not the best experience of my life.

I hate that shid. Its all about sucking to ajnabi
