Why do Eritreans deny they are Habesha? Only a minority of Eritreans are non-Habesh, like the Afar, Saho, and Kunama, but the vast majority are Habeshas, why do you deny it or feel ashamed about it?

When all is said and done, he will go down as one of the greatest leaders humanity can produce. Here you have one of the few African leaders that genuinely loves his country.

To be frank with you, a political process of a "republic" does not change the realities of any nation. Sure, a republic works in white dominated nations, where the victor is not surprisingly a rich white guy with political connection. Western "republics" are a joke. An illusion of the "peoples" vote. In all honesty, the vast majority of people are not capable of accuratly sellecting a leader, because the information they use is published by the media, who they themselves are controlled by big interest groups.

You see, people assume it’s the journalist, rather than the owners, the advertisers, the news shapers, the news makers, who control the manufacture of the news. That’s a bit like saying the workers on the factory floor decide what car the industry produces.

Had Oprah never mentioned Obama, and western media's obsession with him, he would of never been voted to power. The media tells you who to like, how you feel about things, which "issues" matter to you (jobs, jobs, jobs or paris hilton got arrested "news").

A republic is flawed on many levels, particularly when trying to implement them in diverse nations, where people are impoverished and lack basic education. To genuinely mimic a western political process of the Republic would mean a death sentence for any African country. One ethnic group may feel they are being dominated by another and before you know it, we have another Rwandan genocide.

The news media is a dominate source of information about the world. They tell us what matters, they tell us who matters. The way we vote, the way we respond to opinion polls is largely based on media information. So the quality of democracy now depends on the information they provide. In essence, the media dictates everything. This is why you probably assume a "dictator" as being evil. It's western media that has installed this idea in your head. The truth is, the majority of the world practice an orgalarchy political process, including Eritrea. This political process is no better or worse than any other political process. So saying don't you want Isaias to "Step down", I would have to say why? He's the best man for the job, why fire one of the best if not the best worker for his position? Why would any team forcibly force their best player to "step down"?

Lastly, all political process have their advantages and dis-advantages. For anyone to say a Republic is better than an oligarchy is like saying, Islam is better than Christianity or Hinduism is better than Judaism. It would be regarded silly in America if you said your religion was better than someone else's, so why would it be any different from the political aspect of things? Many credible scholars have stated an oligarchy political process, which the majority of the world follows, is the best political process, as it gets things done and bypasses all the troublesome bureaucratic issues like a senate or the house of representatives. Remember, with enough money, you can pay your "elected" officials through "lobbyist" which is a cute word for saying, "pay me to do what you want" or political escorts. You pay them, they do your services. This is the flawed nature in a Republic, among many.

In street terms, would you trade LeBron James if he had one bad game? How about 10 bad games? How about one bad season? No you wouldn't, right. Isaias may have a few minor hickups along his career, but he is the Kobe come clutch, the MJ come 2 minute warning, he is the dark wing duck of "lets get dangerous". He will go down as one of the greatest African heroes.

All of that text doesn't change the fact that you're Habesh.
