Re: Question for the girls.
Of course not. We're newly wed and we can't even have passionate sex all cuz his mom and sister are there? Miyuu waashay? We'd better go on a 1 month honeymoon around the world marka!
Besides, it's in our culture... When a couple get married, you empty the house for them, meaning get a place of your own.

[quote="*Nobleman*"]Interesting, a big no from most of the girls.
Kambuli, the idea behind the arrangement is to save money for a longer term plan.
I had this same debate with a sister. I felt girls were generally unrealistic in their expectations. They some how want an wadaad, who is rich, drives a nice car, from a great family and can afford a nice house. Highly unrealistic.

If the girl really wants the boy she will do everything....By the way, Xaggay joogaan hablahan doonaya inuu wax walba ninku keeno...Anaga in America they share everything, they bring their income together, they plan together and that is the way to succeed
But sometimes, what happens is the girl accepts to save lots of money with the man and guess what he does? He marries another wife with the money she sacrificed
Also most of the time there is a tension that rises between the wife and the in-laws so because of this some families try to avoid that from the very beginning..I don't know why, but the husband never haves a problem with his in-laws..Most of the time 99% it is us(women) who have a problem with their in-laws..I really don't know why

Re: Question for the girls.
The guy shouldn't be asking for her hand to begin with knowing the fact he hasn't got his own house. As for the girl, why on earth would she want to live with his mother AND sister? Unless, she's desperate to get hitched I don't see why she would go along with it. The reason I say this is because I'm visualising pontential scenarios which could occur if this situation was to happen.

Not lying just trying to make Somali women look better. Most somali women are sponges who want to live off there husbands income, stay at home all day do nothing but spend money and have kids. I hate all of those thingkambuli wrote:Yousuf,Are you saying what I wrote is a lie? Huuno it is not..

Yes, tell your "friend" this is a no-no go area for us Somalis, lets follow the dhaqan as somali guys love to always say.

Besides, doesn't he have any family or friends, qarabo w/e that can allow them to live in their house for a few months. My mum's cousin just got married recently and her and her husband did not have a place, so they are living in his sister house till they get a place. The same thing with my brother, him and his wife got a flat the Somali way, he paid for the rent, voila all was good.

Re: Question for the girls.
Why is everyone obsessed with the mother-in-law and sister-in-law? I would be more uncomfortable with the brother-in-laws!!!!!!!!!! Imagine wearing your scarf at home ALL the time and have to cover? Hell no I already wear it outside.
Ps if you look at other way, you don’t have to do the house cleaning, cooking ect for a while cos it isn’t ur house
