Say what? I didn't think it was that recent. Were there black water fountains for them marka?
Granted he could have walked away but not everyone is so inclined.
Yea, in the '50s,'60s You had Jim Crow Laws in America. White only restarants, schools, water fountains, bathrooms, neighborhoods, etc. The average American You see 60 and up, was probably racist or if not, def doesn't want all that much to do with blacks, minorities, etc. Heck slavery didn't really even abolish until 1900! The residue from this will take a lot longer to wear off, but America def has come a long way. Europe didn't have these laws, and slavery was abolished there a long time ago. Europe though colonized, subjegated people in colonies not in their Countries while America didn't really colonize anybody.

Heck even if He was white, police (rightfully so) are always instructed to take the side of a woman in any sort of dispute.
That is true. At least in America. Which is a good reason not to argue with a girl over some minor shit.

The following account is that of a friend and coworker. I have decided to publicize this incident because it impacts me as a student and as a strong believer in social justice. I think it’s important to speak up on his behalf.
Qoftaan sahra la yiraahdo magac bay ku yeelanaysaa somalida iyo intii xaqdarada neceb oo marwalba u hiiliyo xaqa , waana soo dhaweyenaynaa, waxaan leenahay sarah shaqo fiican ayaad qabatey, wiil iyo caano ayaad ku waari doontaa. kana sii wad meeshaas.

The kid must have been a nerd. If it was me, this situation would have worked out perfectly find. She had a right to the room, take ur shit Mr. Abdi. Seven minutes is way too long and there is no such thing as a reserve study room.
I would have turned her into a bootycall

What exactly were you trying to say in that thread? The one where you justified being the "orphans of the Queen"

Again you fail to prove where I said "cadaan treated us nice".

WTF how did I miss this topic? Look at all the uncle toms in this topic. The guy had every right to contest that girl and get her out of his study room. I notice most of the people saying why bother are people who have never been in such a situation and by your passive sentiments it is telling how you would let people walk over you. I think he should sue whoever is responsible that can be sued under the circumstance and make a stance.
BTW Murax, does your school have open study room policy in the libraries? My school has both reservation and walk up to get a room for two hours at a time and in both situations you are given a key from the front desk. The rooms are locked on all occasions and only the person using the room has the key.

Latest from George Mason is after some investigation, the school has decided to drop all charges against Abdi...well now criminally he is off the hook, but the school has to be held accountable and make that girl pay
http://www.connect2mason.com/content/ma ... ir-dropped
Also, both the public outcry helped with the school itself saying the student response has been noticed by the school and the school is now seeking an independent, external investigation to judge how their police acted
GMU officials also said they would launch an external investigation of how their police department handled the incident, including a gap of several hours between the library incident and Dahir’s arrest in his residence hall.
...
In a release, the university said: “Thousands voiced their concern for the students at the center of this event during the past week. While this has been a difficult experience, the university is proud of its diverse and engaged students and alumni, who chose to speak out and get involved.”

He needs to sue them and not let them keep it "internal." He should take it national and if it wasn't for the campus paper publishing his story, the school would've thrown the book at him or swept it under the rugs. Best regards to the brother, may Allah ease his plight, amiin.
GMU is a backwoodsy, baptist school, why go there in the first place? I remember Jerry Fallwell used to teach there years ago, again why attend there? I once passed through their campus traveling from New Jersey to Atlanta and got an eerie feeling just being there. Its as Southern and racist as it can get, you'll find less racist Southern Universities in Georgia than GMU. Campus police are all the same though, I remember once watching on 60 minutes about a small school in upstate NY that essentially black-listed all its black students because an old white lady in town was assaulted, and this being a predominanty white rural town - the police went after every black male in town, specially the few black students that lived there. The school and town were eventually sued by some dozen or more students. Point is when campus police ceased to be campus safety, started carrying guns on campuses about 10 years ago is when shit like this skyrocketed. Cops are cops; retarded sociopaths with low I.Q. and he played right in to their hand by thinking they are rational, moral citizens with common sense, not the case.

Especially in some parts of the country more than others.
