I used to be one of the biggest supporters of moving the capitol, until reality set in. No matter what, the bottom line is the biggest epicenter, most densely populated district of the Country is Mogadishu as battered as it may be. The biggest thing that made me realize this was when the ICU captured Mogadishu; within 4-5 months they had from Raskamboni and were just outside of Galkacyo on their way furthur North. Hassan Turki was saying we'll be in Hargeisa in a short while.


The bottom line is this escape strategy will not work. You have to cut off the head of the snake which is Mogadishu. I truly think the next entity that captures and pacifies it be it AMISOM, Shishkabab, Whoever will capture the rest of the Country. Ethiopians controlled every district in Mogadishu and were able to sit comforatabely in Baydhabo, Beledweyne and were able to unobstructably travel throughout the south to resupply their supply lines. This is common sense.
