To me black is something that i cannot relate to like west indians and afro-americans can. thats not to say i am better than those that i have mentioned but there is more to a human being than just the race. I refuse to fall for that white racist concept of putting people in to classifications that carries negative connotations, but most importantly doesn't have anything to do with a person's identity.

unless you are telling me that black is all there is to you. To confine a human being into one color is to dehumanize them by taking away their name, language, religion and culture.

I rather been referred to as a, Somali with all the negative things that people see on tv that is associated with somalis (terrorist, pirates, refugees, from a land of famine and lawless civil war, savages..etc) than to be called BLACK!
