I noticed the same thing too, even with Dr. Yalaxoow being referred to as such.

I see. The "Sheikh" part came from his madrassah days I believe and became even more common during the ICU days.

Sadly, very few men are left in Somalia who would put the interests of the nation before their own. Most of our so-called "leaders" are petty thieves who exchange their dignity & patriotism for some quick cash. We are plagued by ignorance and incompetence. Sad state of affairs.

That only weakens one's preceding argument.
Because the Puntlanders are incapable of presenting a logical case against Sharif without using childish insults.

It doesn´t make sense, but then again somali politics doesnt make sense.

What makes his post useless? He remains a influential guy .You could also that speaker of Parliaments is a useless post, yet Sharif Hassan is a influential.

Jama is influential, in fact he is the only minister that Faroole has complained about several times. He has been giving Faroole dhiig kaar ever since he was chief of staff. He was also the guy who worked against Omar Abdirashid Sharmarke and made sure that Ina Sharmarke resigned

Why not use his influence to get a much more prestige post. LOL@ comparing head of the parlaiment to a minister of information.

Faroole was picking a fight with the weakest links ;)

Abdalla,

Abdikarim Jama is the most powerful minister in the cabinet. Even more powerful than the Foreign Minister and his opinion by virtue of being the president's chief political advisor carries much weight. By targeting Abdikarim Jama, Faroole was picking a fight heads-on against the main playmaker of the TFG.

Ps,

In Somali politics, a person's post is a very poor indicator of their political capital. Sh Ali Jimale had a very vague post of being minister of shaqaalaha in the 60s and came with ONE Vote of defeating President Aden Cade.

I am not disrespecting Dr. Jama when i called him weakling, but judging by how he sounds he seemed weak( i've listened to his interview which was very poor) same goes for Farmaajo and Ina Sharmake

Are you talking strictly about how they speak? Then, that's a matter of personal perception. Having said, most Somali politicians are soft spoken, from the days of President Aden Cade, PMs Abdirashid Sharmarke, PM Igal to the current crop. Being soft spoken is related to being decent, culturally speaking.

All those you've mentioned were leaders, they might spoken soft but the self confidence sparkled all over them, we can't say that about the ones i mentioned.

Leadership is a vague term and depends more on perception than by actual performance. My college Political Psychology professor used to say: all politics is perception.

A politician is per definition a salesman, he needs charisma to sell his products. I wouldn't buy milk from those guys lol
