OOOHlalalalala.
It is simple; it is what is in your heart and mind that matters; not the way you dress. Islamists want to force (compel) people
I guess you're pleading the 5th when it comes to slife
So are you refuting my statement. You're making me frazzled without even knowing what you look like. That's a strong feat.
The table are turning; now I am the one who is stupid; paraphrase per favor.. oohlalalala

Why is it hard to find a somali woman who says publically no to social norms; Except perhaps in Italy: what you see on the streets is a hijab wearing woman. It seems that most of them are not doing this out of religious convictions but because of peer pressure. There is a romour circulating (romour mills are truth mills in the somali context) that if you find a hijaab wearing woman on the street chances are that she is easy to lay.
It seems that wearing "islamic" clothes is more important than religious convictions from the heart. By the way it is the same for men; mosque attendees and those that give the impression of being pious are the worst of the kind; marriage of conviniences, tribalism, warlordism etc are their traits. They will silence their critics by reciting an unrelated quranic verse.
I am concerned with women; it is difficult to find an openly secular professional woman? A beauty to take into your arms

i somewhat agree with u .. i know many somali girls that work "night shifts" and yet u wont see them going out without hijab or niqab.

Mondey,
Somali women and men work in night shifts; double standard. We are human subjects and as such easily fall prey to social norms

I will try again using the good old marx;
I gave you my thesis
Give me the antithesis
and then I will you give you the synthesis

LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL
You are off the chain. How about you read my first post (which was fairly simple) then tell me why you're refuting it.

In order to respond to the above we need to define and operationalise our concepts;
let us confine ourselves to the one you used above:
Religion; a dogma that purports to have a devine approach to how we lead lives. There are several religions, offsprings i.e they come in different shapes but appear to have a monopoly on what will happen after death.
Islam; submission; social justice religion at the onset but it is imaged have been tarnished by fanatics (wahabis who blend it with arabic culture). At the heart of islam is the notion that everything you do is between you and your Allah. But, there is a collective culture among its followers.
If only Allah is omniscient/omnipotent (which I agree is what the key message of islam) why do we have people who act as Allah's soldiers? Allah does not need soldiers.
The message of my thread is simple; our society today cares less about religious convictions and more about peer pressures resulting in double standardism. The dress code is not islamic
