I am planning to start reconstruction on my family's property in Kaaran. I haven't seen it since 1990.

LOL@my House in Kaaraan, Abdiwahab you guys in revenge turned Cali mahdi’s five star Hotel into public bathrooms

Walaahi soomaalida were crazy people in those days, in early 1990s even an Abgaal that born in Mogadishu in three generations couldn’t leave in Kaaraan district and come to see his Home in other parts of the town.

I heard similar stories happened in Burco between 1994 and 1997

The only thing this house is missing is the wheels to take it back to its tribal land.

This is Mogadishu after all -- anything goes.

My family gave their villas in xamar and farms in afgoye to habar gedir families they knew. We are on good terms with them, they even made sure it wouldn't get damaged.

Yeah there's no way in hell I'd be able to go back and recover my mom's house over there. I think it was converted into a hospital.

Personaly I think Your cousin is wasting His money. It won't be any time before that House and entire neighborhood becomes a killing field Where even quraanjo won't survive. My Dad on several occassions wanted to sell whatever We Had there after some inquiries from some dudes in America, UAE but got a lot of pressure from other parts of the fam to keep it and 'sell it high when Mogadishu becomes stable'. Well that place ain't never gonna be stable. The place is almost like a video game From Mooryaan, International Terrorists, Amxaaro, to Ugandese to who knows what You cannot even script it any better. Best advice to anyone is get whatever money You could out of what You have there and pocket the cash. No need to have a "Vacation home" if Mogadishu ever becomes a vibrant, developed city one day and You really wanna go what would stop You from staying in a 5 star hotel?
