Even though this is a good gesture by the Turkish government, I'd rather show off a dump created by Somalis than show off shiny buildings created by foreigners.

Why

Because it doesn't show the accomplishments of Somalis, rather it shows that Somalis live off aid from other countries (like every other African nation). Even though we're in a 20yr civil war, Somalis, both in the diaspora and back home should be able to pick themselves up and build a nation.

Didnt seem like you were talking about aid, these people who came will not do everything for free and its not like they will build peoples homes, just the main thing e.g. the roads and even the man power for this will be Somali. Will have enough thing left for us to do so don't you worry

sorry if I jumped to conclusions, if the Turks are coming to provide basic necessities that'll help kickstart the Somali-led rebuilding process, then I'm all for it
