To notice/note/realise/question/think something, particularly something that you think is suspiscious. i.e. waxbaan qoonsaday e.g. waxan qoonsaday that person always cut the conversation short ? ... tolow maxay/muxuu uga jeedaa. Samatar is right though, let's just say if you eat meat late at night and you feel funny in the morning, waxaad oran kartaa "hilibki aan xalay cunay baan qoonsaday"

No. I would never say that :? I would say "wax aan diidayo ayaan cunay" or "hilibkii xalay ayay calooshu igu xanuuntay :lol:

Lets' put it down to regional variation. I would only use qoonsi in the way that I described.

Im confident that I am right though :lol: we will have to see, when there are loads of people saying I am wrong I will research and re-consider :lol:

p.s. The language does very slightly up north too though. There is reer galbeed lingo djibouti-awdal-maroodijeeex then there is Bari - Togdheer/sool/sanaag.

In that case your somali sucks, if I drink spoiled milk and get sick waxaan oran "waxaan qoonsaday caanihii baqay" what the hell is "aan diidayo" aan diidayo means something I don't want.
