lol I guess you never heard of muslims Serving Western Countries before. More of them than Not these days.Jaidi wrote:This is a good move and I have no problem with it. It shows AMISOM has become receptive to criticisms of it, and also limits the amount of propagnada alShabaab can use in response.
For one you cannot argue that Djibouti is trying to colonize Somalia, or has interests in destabilizing it. You cant say they are Christian foreigners who are intend on reversing culture and converting the masses. This type of propaganda which is rife on alShabab sites and even that Battle of Daynile video won't hold with Djibouti. Ultimately the TFG troops have to be strengthend and professionalized first and foremost for real imminent gains. The TFG itself has to be reformed to be able to take advantage of any gains and provide basic security and services. All that being said this is a good depolyment considering the circumstances. I recall a point where many used to argue they'd support peacekeepers if they were Muslim and understood the local dhaqan. Now you have (mostly) Somalis and Muslims, you cannot spin this further. Djiboutien soldiers are also 100 times more professional than the TFG militias.

I am referring to it in the context of alShabaab propaganda as well its supporters. Sure the West has interests, but the idea that AMISOM is trying to convert the country and is a foreign Christian plot against Somalia is nonsense and you know it.
What has Eritrea's success been premised on? A concept of nationalism above else right? Not a zero sum game of "true Muslims" vs the world. Let us be honest you or any other Eritrean would never support a group like alShabab and would crush it if appeared. They pay no allegiance to the concept of a Somali nation, and invite people who have internionalist goals of never ending war. Would you accept such a group in the Somali context? What is the long term hope of supporting them?

what?IronSheik wrote:Lamgoodle but we somalis are we not the same ones who make fun of our somali brothers from Djibouti and say there first language is french iyo they lost the soomali dhaqan they don't have the language and the culture and even call themselves djiboutians not somalis. Look at the new generation of youth from djibouti they don't speak somali and the dhaqan is gone. But I don't care about all that the religion but is all that is true but like all muslims they are succeptible to being corrupted like all men. So have they been corrupted? Very high chance abti so there is nothing to celebrate until we see what happens on the ground and I don't think they will be any different to the ugandans.
